In a desperate bid to look good in a bridesmaid dress in September, I am on a mission to lose 2 stone (at least!!)

polarheart got me searching the net with her post about bloodtypes and food, and I came across allsorts!

so, as of tomorrow I am officially on the road to thindom :-)  .....with....

a concoction of fad diets actually...

A cabbage soup diet..paired with a citrus fruit detox..yummy!!  not!!!!  but no pain no gain right??

I am fully stocked up with limes and lemons and grapefruit, and a juicer!! yay :-)

I bought myself an exercise dvd (davina mc call) and dug out my yoga dvd, and as of this moment in time..I am fully motivated!!!  even slightly excited :-)

I wanted somewhere to record my progress, and some kind of diet plan, a kinda journal like cw mentioned.

So I just joined soulcast...'skinny-me' :-)
(I wanted to keep it seperate from my normal blog, if anyones interested in the recipie or reading it I am skinny-me   he he  I'll start recording my journey to skinny ness 2mo :-) in the meantime I am having my last night of alcohol and bad foods!! )

wish me luck...   (I am gonna need it!!!!!  :-)

des- I wish you well, but pray tell, what does it mean to lose two stone?
  • polarheart said on Mar 15, 2008....
Destiny, you go girl!!  We're in this together!

    Beyond, 14 pounds = 1 stone

Good luck, Destiny :) But you know those diets are horribly unhealthy! You probably already realize that though. If you need to lose weight by September you have plenty of time to do it the right way. Fad diet results won't last. But the excercise is good! I hope you can reach your goal :)

2 stone is TOOOO much... fucking hell girl... I agree with nursecutie, you will turn your lovely body into a war zone of starve and feed.... best thing to do is check out a high exercise low carb (no processed carb like bread, pasta, sugars) and just plain old eat healthy and exercise... you have months... try to aim for nothing more than a couple of kilo every week... and for gods sake 2 stone is too damn much... we actually want to see you you know... not some stick! sticks aren't attractive.. like in they are ugly.....

diets... hmmppphh! silly... but good luck in getting healthy though... motivated motivated motivated... feels like a train rushing past! yippeeee

Yes, I agree with Lucy!  Aim for healthy, not thin!
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 16, 2008....
2 stones?!!  There'll be nothing left to ya!  How you gonna keep your feet when the wind blows?  You'll fly away in your dress!  You'll have to hold on to a string so that the wedding party can use you like a kite!

You even have a personal nurse(cutie) giving you good advice.  I'm not a doctor(but I play one on TV), but I recommend you heed her words.

    Good luck!

    Good luck destiny!

Now, I, on the otherhand... need to gain weight. Anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish that?! It's not as easy as it sounds, unfortunately.
  • polarheart said on Mar 16, 2008....

    lfbno - lol - 1 stone = 14 pounds

Sunshine, what is your blood type?

God, do I know how you feel girl!  I've gone from being less than 8 stone when I met B 15 years ago to being nearly 11 stone!  I've lost 5 pound in past few weeks by doing something really simple.  I do some abs exercises with one of those rollers you lay on the floor with for just 10 mins each evening followed by some twisting and stretching for just 10 mins (can't do much yet since badly breaking my ankle and tearing ligaments in November ).  But, instead of having cobs in the morning and afternoon (rolls or baps - not sure what others around the world call them) and sausage rolls as snacks, I have a lovely big bowl of Special K cereal.  i love it!  Don;t even need sugar on them and taste fine with skimmed milk.  Imagine how much I'd be losing if I didn;t have the bad ankle?  I'm never hungry either.  I have lovely jacket potatoes for lunch at work with mackerel, sardines or tuna and cucumber with as much salad as I like.  The knack to losing weight I reckon is to not be hungry all the time, that's when it falls down.  Peckish - bowl of cereal.  Got the munchies - bowl of cereal.

Good luck with it though.  Also, if you want to be able to have the occasional alcoholic drink say at weekends and at the wedding, don't cut it out all together just for the diet.  A few glasses of wine at weekends will not dampen your dieting efforts.

beyond~it means I will look fantastic in a bridesmaid dress!!!  :-)

polar~ yes we are!! :-) your post gave me the kick start I needed, thank you!  :-)

natalie~ hiya :-) I am just doing it as a kinda kick start detox, just for a week, then I am gonna just take it easy, I have had a habit of getting obsessed and being stupid with dieting, and I am determined not to get carried away with it, once this week is over, I'll go on a normal healthy eating plan :-)

lucy lol!  I am still surprisingly motivated even after day one is almost over! :-)  trust me, 2 stone is being generous..I could prob do with loosing more than that! :-) I am gonna just go healthy after this week, I need a kick in the ass and these lemons limes and grapefruit are defo doing that!! lol  :-)  ps cabbage soup...hmm I'm getting sick of the taste already! maybe I'll drop the soup and just do the detox. :-)

pickers~ nahhhhh  thin is my goal :-) ..not like mega skinny...just no fat!!  :-)

grape~thanks for wishing me luck :-)  lol about the kite, nahhh  2 stone will get me just nice :-) not to skinny..still curves..but toned and no fat!  thats my goal anyways :-)   ..you played a doctor on tv? I didnt know you were an actor? wow, rock star and an actor...are you still single? he he ;-)

    trav~ thankyou...no being sick!! I promise :-)

    catch~ aww :-)

go for it... the soup sounds like it sucks!
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 16, 2008....
deedee: I don't play a doctor on TV.  It's from a TV commercial from the '80's in the US for a cough syrup.

  • Lucytorial said on Mar 16, 2008....
Thats insane grape.... you aren't allowed to be good looking as well as a rock star.....

Quick fan her face, throw a bucket of water on her
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 16, 2008....
Lucy:  LOL.  That's not me.  It's just that, "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV" was a pretty popular phrase way back when(I don't even know how I remember it).  I guess it's a part of US pop-culture or something like that.

Interestingly enough, why would an actor be doing a commercial for a cough syrup?  People had strange sensibilities in the '80's.  :)

    good luck!!! =)

I will bet you two to one, that you don't loose on that cabbage soup diet.  But before I put my money where my mouth is, first of all, I would like to know how long you intend on eating just the cabbage soup? When I did it, I did it for 14 days.  Now, in the first five days, I lost 2 lbs. then I didn't loose anything else, and I got hungry and although you can basically have just about as much as you want of it, it gets rather dull before the two weeks is up and then you will find yourself snacking on other things, to kind of round out the meal, sort of speak, and by the end of the two weeks, or shortly thereafter, you will not only have put the 2 lbs. back on, but more as well.

Oh aren't I encouraging?...hehe...Lots of luck.....besides, you don't even need to go on a diet...you are fine just the way you are...

mr 7, polar, sunshine, pusscat...  sorry, it takes me so long to reply that you all commented inbetween me starting to reply ...putting kids to bed finishing replying and pressing send :-)

mr7~ lol...if I had 400 pounds to lose I'd be sticking to my cabbage soup! :-)  (I quit this morning) I do need to lose 2 stone (28 pound) though... yep I am a big fatty :-) xx

polar~thanks for converting, I have a form to get my bloods done this week, so I'm gonna find out what I am and try your blood group diet thingy :-) xx

sunshine~ I am totally jealous!!!  grrrrr  rahhhhh  grrrrrr   lol  :-)  naaahhh, I know it can be  just as hard to put it on as it is to take it off, its more more fun tho gaining than losing :-)
any ideas?  ...hmmm  loads of them!!!  :-)  cookies ....kfc.... mac donalds... chips....burgers... chocolate!!!  :-)   he he   :-)
no seriously, good luck with gaining weight, and thanks for stopping by :-) xx

sorry, have to go, will come back and finish replying when kids in bed :-) xx
