Here is a newsflash for y'all!

Religion to me, is one's own personal "outward" expression of an inward faith!

I have been a Christian since I was age 8.  I've stumbled a few times, fell down and bruised my shins, but I always got back up and perservered.  But, I would never have gotten where I am today, if I hadn't cast off "religion".

All those things that are suppose to signify to the world: "I'm A Christian!"  I truly believe that no one can tell another person how to walk. Not entirely!  We can suggest, and we can lead by example, but when it comes right down to it we have to learn to do it on our own.  And we do it, more times than not, thru life's experiences.  Getting up and falling down!

If one is serious about his personal growth as a person, I believe, for me, there is no other way.

The things that I believe about doctrine, are just that.  They are doctrine. I believe the Bible is the "inspired" word of God,  and I read it because I am always in pursuit of understanding and seeing how it can apply to my life.

Tell me what you think!....

    Do You Believe?

I don't think there is anything wrong with being religious as long as you are not counting on your religion to save you.

Even the most religious of people can be absolutely wrong!  But, I 'd say I'm religious and I don't mind that label at all, but it is my belief in Christ that I believe to be important.

I'm religious and don't have a problem saying it. I'm developing my own personal spiritual practices as well as engaging in worship on a regular basis.

And I'm slowly learning about Christian doctrine as it has evolved (yes, evolved) over the milennia. It will be interesting to see what shape it takes in America and in the world over the next fifty years. I don't project much farther out because fifty years is already beyond average life expectancy for me.

Good for you, queen!  That is exactly what I am saying.  If we would become more spiritual and less religious, I think we could do a lot more in the world we live in that is positive!  Thank you so much for your comments...

iamshay, how sweet of you to be taking the time to read these posts, but I don't know that I can be of much help in this area.

I struggle from time to time with this "religious" theme. My husband is the real Christian in my family. He is the same today, yesterday, and will be tomorrow.

I have mental and emotional issues that sometimes interfere with my walk.

It is so difficult to "walk the walk" if you know what I mean. You would really be better served to read some one who doesn't have as many ups and downs as I do, but thank you anyway.

cbl~ you don't have to be perfect to share your utmost desire about God.
i know you are capable to lead someone like me.
nobody will judge you. i  have  faith in you. I can see that you are spiritually righteous.
