wow!! I just saw a new 'snickers' advert on tv, with B A Baracus in it!! aww it got me all nostalgic.... bad destiny!! I am spose to be working on an assignment but somehow my research attempts swiftly moved from psychology journals to the A team .. :-)

I truly adored the A team as I was growing up...I loved the familiarity of it..kinda like watching scooby doo...you know they are gonna solve the mystery and at the end the bad guy is gonna say 'i'd have gotton away with you it it wasnt for you pesky kids" :-) but the catchphrase was 'I love it when a plan comes together' :-)

at the beginning, it used to say "Ten years ago / In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team"

I knew that of by heart when I was little !! :-)

(I copy and pasted it from wikpedia didnt mean it to post links)

do you remember these guys.. (I copied n pasted again) :-)

Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith - The leader of the A-Team was forever "on the jazz" and just loved to pick fights with the head honcho of the bad guys. Find out more about Hannibal and the man that played him, George Peppard.

Captain "Howlin' Mad" Murdock - The even-more-mentally-imbalanced-than-the-others pilot seemed to be proud of his "condition". The part was brilliantly acted by Dwight Schultz.

Lieutenant Templeton "Face" Peck - The A-Team's pretty-boy was good with the women, but when it came to fights Face was usually nowhere to be found. Find out more about Dirk Benedict.

Sergeant Bosco "B.A." Baracus - Mechanic and general hard bloke, nicknamed B.A. on account of his bad attitude. Mr.T was the stunningly brilliant actor that played him.

who was your favourite?? I absolutly loved murdock, he was my total fave,
and B A Baracus was definitly my second favourite.

I even love the tune to it... duuuuuhhh du du duuuuhhhhh d d duuuuuhhh d d d d d duuuuuhhhhh duuuh de du du duhhhhh :-)

Is there any other A team fans ?

Just curious..
Destiny xx

I have no idea what you're talking about.  Actually I remember hearing about the A team at some point but never saw it.  I just think this is great because I used to (and sometimes still do) get really excited over my favorite tv program, and I just wanted to share it with everybody.

desty - Nope...didn't like the A team!  I used to really like Z cars, and going right back into my early childhood, there was Dixon of Dock Green and the world of Gurney Slade. Way before you came to be, Desty, but your olds (I hate that expression! gets used on me a lot these days!) your olds might remember the shows just mentioned!

Loved the A Team! I had a huge crush on Dirk Benedict!  I wonder what ever happened to him?  I seem to remember he was diagnosed with cancer which he claims went into remission due to a macrobiotic diet.

sorry, i thought the A team was too over the top. i never was all that impressed, but when i watched the episode where murdock kept jumping on the cell bars and yelling 'TRASHBAG'!  and then they all used those trash bags and lawn chairs and hair driers to float over the prison walls, well, that was all she wrote for me! :-)

des- I must say, this was really cheesy, but I've seen it a number of times. It still reruns here and my mother watches it religiously.

I liked the "stunningly brilliant" Mr. T- I still like him.

OMG!!!  I was saying for the longest time that the A-Team augmented with MacGyver would be the best team evar!!!  :D  Ultimate 80's reunion show!!!

I'm definitely a Howlin' Mad Murdoch kinda guy, though I gotta give props to George Peppard.  Hannibal Smith was one sly guy.  Loved the name, loved the cigar...  Real brains behind the operation, you know?  Cars flipping over amongst explosions, bad guys gettin' their come-uppance...  What's not to like about it?

I loved it how they had to sedate B.A every time they flew.

    Good stuff, deedee.  :D

Murdoch was my favorite although I loved them all.

The A Team theme has been my cell phone ring tone for a long time now, even though I've been thinking about changing to Magnum PI.

Like other shows from my youth I have difficulty watching The A Team now. But at the time, it was awesome!

The A Team ruled in our house when I was a kid too!  Mad Murdoch every time.  I thought even the Martians would have heard of Scooby Doo ha ha!  I used to watch MacGyver but can't remember much about it.  I remember my older sister having a crush on him.

I wonder if everyone did the same as me at the bit where you wrote the theme tune across the page?. . . .

I still loved the episode where they are in a theme park.  A Cylon walks past (as he was also in Battlestar Galactica) and he does a double take - loved that.

Boy!, you bring back old memories, I remember, when the A-Team or Miami Vice would be on, I never left the house until after the episode was over.

I pity the fool who never saw this fine piece of television. It was one of my favorites.
  • pusscat said on Mar 10, 2008....
hidufel - love your aristocratic name!  Thing is, it's so bloody addictive - I must have made nearly 100 by now.  I sent it to just about everyone I know so they can drive themselves mad with it too ha ha :-0

I've been saving my A-Team experience in case I run of of shit to do in my old age. I like getting into a TV series and then marathoning it through all the seasons as fast as possible. Although sometimes it makes the mistakes more obvious.
  • sheemAfeM said on Mar 10, 2008....
I love these!!!!!! I pity that fool!!!!!! lol

Mr. T no doubt ! Clean, raw, down to the point.  Saw the A-team a long time ago, parts actually, since in Greece it wasn't aired properly.  I also rememer him since he was in Rocky III,  and reminded me of my fighting days (beginning),  he was a -vilain- idol! Cool dude!
Bennedict was a treat in Galactica!
