Six to ten more inches of snow by Saturday evening?  You have got to be kidding me.  This is not fun anymore!  And Sunday morning we turn the clocks ahead one hour?  Why?  So we can have an extra hour of daylight to look at the freaking snow!

Have to hurry and get to the grocery store with all the other Chicken Littles who are terrified of the White Death about to rain down upon us.

Oh goody.

I agree with you, MissMimi. Who thinks we need more bad weather, not I?  We ae suppose to get at least six inches by tomorrow or Friday.

We're expecting the same, Mimi.  I'm ready to spit, I'm so sick of snow.

I love california.  We are "suffering" through a blizzard of cherry tree blossoms.
  • lioneljay said on Mar 06, 2008....
You poor dear. We're going to have 70 or so here this weekend.
  • rupert7 said on Mar 06, 2008....
MissMimi - pretty soon you will think it is too hot! It is Autumn/Fall here in the land down under and we are suffering with 24C or 75F....isn't that terrible LOL
  • Twylarants said on Mar 06, 2008....
Then I guess you don't want to hear that it's gonna be in the low 60s here this weekend, huh?
  • rupert7 said on Mar 06, 2008....
Twy -  ah! the low 60's thats great and about as cold as it gets through the day here,in the winter, colder at night though!

According to the weather map on our local newschannels, we could get some snow.  Or not.

I have things I'd like to do this weekend, and they don't involve snow!

I don't like snow either. I don't like winter much at all.
When I was a little boy I loved winter. I liked to sled. I liked to build really big snowmen. People would wonder how such a small boy could build such big snowmen.
One time when it was very cold I stuck my tongue to a stop sign post. I never did that again. That was stupid.

Sometimes, I wish we had snow here. But I think I am changing my mind. :-/

  • Eilan said on Mar 07, 2008....
Right now we're getting rain, but we're supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow tonight and 2-4 inches tomorrow.

My girls' school district recently spent several thousand dollars on a telephone alert system that would allow the central office to send pre-recorded telephone messages about closings, delays, early dismissals, etc to everyone in the district, though parents can opt out if they choose.  Apparently it's already up and running, as evidenced by the call we received at frickin' 5:45 this morning alerting us to the possibility of a two-hour early dismissal if the snow gets here today.

you must be living in the midwest along with us, we are expecting it too!

It snowed here on Weds for all of about 2 seconds. ;-)

I sincerely hope that that's all we see of it this year.

I'm sitting here watching my neighbor's driveway get drifted over.  My son got stranded with my daughter at her apartment.  Should be interesting to see how long it takes for one of them to call me complaining about the other one.  LOL

12 inches by tomorrow afternoon, the weather guys are saying.  This is one time when 12 inches is a bad thing...  (Sorry Eilan, couldn't resist...)  ;)
  • CreativeWoman said on Mar 07, 2008....
I hear ya Mimi.  We were supposed to get flurries here today and I woke up to blowing and drifting yuck.  I hope you stay warm and safe.

I feel so inferior.  We're only supposed to get 6 to 8 inches.  :(

My girls were sent home from school at 10:30 this morning, just before the snow arrived.  We didn't even try to take our five-year-old to preschool.  My husband went to WallyHell to pick up a few things around noonish, and surprisingly enough, it wasn't as busy as he thought it would be, but people were wandering around like cattle for some reason.

We got upgraded to a Blizzard Warning.  It's blizzarding its little heart out.  mrMimi had trouble getting in the house because the front door had drifted over.

First time I saw snow I was so excited! I had waited for 26 years to see this white wonder. Minnesota was the rendezvous for this unforgetable occasion. By the second day of snow I was nearly frost bitten, had been stuck in the snow and had discovered a few choice words I had no idea previously existed in me.

I understand where you are coming from MissMimi.

We had a winter weather advisory going on and the roads were really slick this morning. But, as with anything, there was a pretty side to it. I snapped a photo that I thought I would share with you.
