There's been a lot of negativity going on around here lately.  It affects us, and we end up taking the negativity from here and depositing it elsewhere.  Whether it's towards our significant others, or our school chums, our children, our friends...  The negativity takes a toll on all of us.  It has a snow-ball effect sometimes and I see people "screaming" at each other for no other reason besides from the fact that they disagree with you(I put the word screaming in quotes because the only way we can "scream" at each other is through boldface type and italics and such).  Or maybe it's a profound philosophical difference, but in my opinion, that's not something that will be so easily changed by an exchange of banter on a blogging site.

So I devised this little exercise.  I want you to write something nice about someone.  Just like negativity, positivity has a way of snowballing, too, you know?  You can say something positive about ANY SoulCaster you wish, but your very first praise HAS to be about the person who commented before you.  You can choose to reveal your admiration towards other SoulCasters if you wish, but only after you've said something nice about the person directly above you.  Sounds good?  Have I made myself clear here?

If you don't know anything about the person who commented before you, there are a few things you can do.  1.  You can learn more about them by visiting their blog and reading something by and about them, or 2.  You can just make something up.  :)

Well, what are you waiting for?  I'm waiting....

Thanks for stopping by,

Grape.

P.S.  I'll be stopping in here every once in a while to make sure you're all playing fair and honest(also to fish for compliments and praises).  :D  Should I find a negative comment on here, you will promptly be deleted(but not necessarily be banned, unless you spam).

Yay, I got Fearing!!  Fearing is one of the best friends I have. . .she is kind, caring and has the finest sense of humour I've come across in a long time.  I love her to pieces!
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 05, 2008....
me4u:  I admire your courage.  Your writing about and through your crippling depression is something that I find very encouraging and admirable.  I know you and I've had very limited interaction(if any) thus far, but we have plenty of time to change that, don't we?  I look forward to it.  :)

pickers:  What's to say about pickers?  I don't know if she knows this or not, but on top of her humorous posts, she's quite the poet.  Much meaning belie her comical, seemingly irreverent posts.

Z:  Our resident professor, only one clothed at this time.  :D  She's hawt!  Though I've never met her, or seen her picture, her mind, her intellect, and her caring nature is what I find so beautiful.  Irresistible, in fact.

internal:  Her pensieve lends a glimpse of her wonderful world, inhabited by a linebacker baby.  :)  Her freight train of thought often leaves me stranded at the embankment, but always with a smile.

MM&I:  A truly kind and wonderful soul.  I am fortunate that she Casts here.  Always accompanied by her smile, she rarely lets things get to her.  Always able to see the brighter side of life, I admire her uplifting perspective.  :)

fearing:  A motherly figure to me.  Her love and caring was instrumental in helping me get over a rough patch in my life a few months back.  There were others, too, but she'll always occupy a special place in my heart for that reason alone.  Plus, I think she may be right with God.  If that's the case, it'll be in your best interest to get right with her.  :)

polar:  My South African friend(and no, she's not an Au-pair that I met on the train) currently residing in the UK.  She's the resident SC guru for noobies.  Always there to lend a helping hand, her kindness shows through in her posts and comments.  Another one who's right with God.  So, if you want to get on God's good side, better get on polar's good side, too.  :)

Now we're gettin' it!  Glad you're all here.  Please, don't mind me.  Continue!  :D

I've always admired HBC's candor, brutal honesty and his heart.  He's my renegade preacher and I am a flock of one(though I may be a black sheep).

CW is one of the most tender hearted SC members I know.  I love that despite having to deal with family that is often unkind that she doesn't stoop to their level, but behaves with dignity.

I also need to send a special thank you out to polar, destiny, trav and botoni.  They helped me keep what bits of sanity I had before the wedding.  There were many others of course, but those four let me pour my heart out and still liked me afterward :)

I also enjoy reading ET, Nurse, JBox and SW.  They always have a "kicky" response to life and it's many wonders.

Skald, SL, MM&I, MissMimi,TIO, Mamie and any of the ladies I may have forgotten, you all are going to have to come on out to CA and we'll have a 3 margarita lunch while we discuss our evil plans for the men of SC ;)

secret:  One of the most prolific bloggers on SoulCast.  Largely responsible for this site being what it is.  Her love of life shines through in every post.  It would be no exaggeration to call her a pillar of the community, as she's so supportive.  :)

    MissMimi:
A recently made great-aunt(congrats again!), and all around, a great lady.  A terrific sense of humor, and an unmatched zest for life and all its crazy foibles.

Z:  LOL  Why you blushin?  You've known that I've felt this way about you for some time, don't you?  :D  Just tellin' it like it is...  Always have(try to, anyways).  You have quite the knack for SF yourself, you know...

Yeah, I miss HBC, too.  So apparently, we're a flock of two.  :)

Madd-Shame:  A relative new-comer, with only two posts, but boy!  What posts!!  Very interesting, though-provoking.  You know that Mark was the oldest of the Synoptic gospels, but all the synoptic gospels draw from a mysterious "document Q", a proto-gospel that we haven't found yet?  Though I'm sure you're already aware of this little tidbit, as I'm sure you know plenty more about the subject than I do.  I'll echo CeeDub and say, "Welcome to SoulCast!!!"

CeeDub:  What's to say about CW that hasn't already been said by others?  There's a reason why people are lining up and singing your praises, you know?  It's because you are praiseworthy.  Very much so, in fact.  You always remind me that there's an everlasting beauty in all of us, in all things.  Though I've been absent many a times, you've always drawn me back to SoulCast.  And for that, you'll always have my gratitude.

vacant:  Not as ordinary as she paints herself to be.  An artist, a model, and a terrific butt!  :D  Turns the pains of life into beautiful posts about life.  Much wisdom and true beauty lie just beneath the surface of her seemingly plain exterior.

uni:  Our recent newlywed(congrats again!!!).  Her name really fits her, I think.  A truly unique soul, in my opinion.  Her blogs about life always leaves one feeling warm, and wanting more.

Jenna:  Another fellow SoulCast vet who refuses to fall by the wayside.  I love her outlook on things.  She's been blogging off and on as long as I have.  I think she's a gentle soul.  Very kind.

Mamie:  Biting wit.  One of the sharpest knife in the drawer, to boot.  :D  More than that, an incredibly positive influence in my life.  The sweetheart of SoulCast.  If ya don't know, now you know....

ginger:  Has an inexhaustible capacity to care.  Has a heart bigger than the State of Texas.  Global, cosmopolitan beauty with brains to match.  Like infernal says, a masterful storyteller who captures my breath often.  Has a keen insight and an inviting nature that compels people to disclose things about themselves.  Wields her feminine demure with a hammer.

infernal:  Is actually quite the wordsmith.  Possessor of many literary gems.

travelr:  Embodiment of the phrase, "Life is a journey, not a destination".  A wonderful person to have with on your travels.  I can plainly see the "welcome" sign in front of trav's door(blog) and I always make sure to wipe my feet before I enter.  :)

Twyla:  I've met her recently, and I love her sense of humor.  A fellow (former)bookseller, hates the bestseller wall like I do.  :)  I'd share a smoke with her, but she recently quit.  Dare I tempt her?  :D
  • CreativeWoman said on Mar 05, 2008....

You can also add flatterer to your list of praises or else I must have one heck of a magnetic personality if I keep pulling you back here.  :-)

Thank you to Vacant, Jenna and UI for saying such sweet things about me.  I think you guys are great too!

TIO:  The wordsmith strikes again!!!  Just look at her comments on here to start with, but go see her post titled, "untitled" :D  and you'll see what I mean.

    fallyn:
A fellow stargazer who bares her(?) soul for all the world to see.  Which requires far more courage than I could ever muster.  I am secretly envious of her daring...  Wait...  Since I just said it, I guess I'm now openly envious.  :)

Moonie:  A quality that I've attributed to myself:  "A silent invasion of the Asian persuasion".  Cares much more than he lets on sometimes.  Muddy hiking boots and field vest transform into sharp claws and dense fur when the moon is full.  It would be wise to lock up your wives and daughters when moonie's on the prowl.  :)

TNA:  The new after-midnight blue poetess.  Prone to rants sometimes.  A new blogger with only a couple of posts, but I am looking forward to many more.  Hope she makes it here.

husbandhater:  Despite her handle, I get the feeling that she doesn't actually "hate".  Asks important questions.  Thought-provoking ones, too.  A keen interest and insight into politics, a bright egg.

wombie:  Our resident goof, jester and comic.  When paired with pickers, becomes the Dynamic duo(I'll let you two fight over who gets to be Batman and who Robin.  That ought to be good for a tussle or two, yeah?  :D  )  Her sense of humor belie the heart of gold that reside underneath.  Truly a class act, IMO.

deedee:  Our resident detective.  Her open-minded nature and her willingness to accept others has gotten her into some hot water once or twice, but she trudges on, undeterred.  Teams up with other troublemakers on the site to brew up controversies once in a while.  Adds much needed tension and flavor to the sandlot.

mobil:  I don't need anything nice to be said about me...  My smug sense of self-satisfaction's enough to power this house.  :D  For you, though, I have this:  Our resident wild man and bear-hunter.  Cares a lot more than he likes to admit.  Has no problems giving people what for.  A much needed reality check that I appreciate, like a cool breeze off the lake on a hot day.

deedee:  I meant it as a compliment.  I know you've had your ins and outs with various people here, but I know that you're good people.  Sorry if I didn't do a good job in communicating that.  I find language to be a clunky tool in expressing one's true thoughts sometimes.

Soulcast represents an opportunity for a worldwide community to come together in an international humanitarian gala of a sort, never before experimented with such a diverse group, unrestrained, to this magnitude in open communications, or lack of ; a graffiti of mankind wishing to immortalized themselves in text, lost in space.

It is every bit the mayhem one might expect as cultures are slid forcefully together like intercontinental shelves being freed of tension in one giant leap....the results are one big dimple in cyberspace, a hybrid of many theologies bastardized, manipulated and fed like gruel to the readership one click at a time.

Despite the bombs that have been dropped and the cultures still under attack each day in Soulcast, there is the form of an ill gotten government forming a society, the limits of which are being yet explored.

Reciprocal trade of emotions is uncontrolled and lopsided to even be considered fair trade in any actual sitting within a virtual community. The markets diverse, yet mob mentality prevails while deprivation of the young and weak are exploited openly ; perhaps to push the envelope or appreciate public outcry....the court of review has yet to determine that question, so the law of the jungle is ever present in an otherwise lawless frontier.  Civilized cultures learning to be civil....or calculating reaction given no other choice but, abandonment.

Despite the adversity ever present, abandonment would equate to running away from home.

    Lost in Space....

Ginger...... A woman with a beautiful heart and soul.  When I read her words, I'm transported to that place.  She is funny, wise, thoughtful, sweet and a friend.

QueenP, the young woman who has become everyone's little sister here at Soulcast.....When I think of Queen, I think of someone who will always be there encouraging others - even when she is having a tough time herself, she finds the strength reach out.  She is a sweetheart!

Queenie makes me cry good tears!  She's such a sweet heart and totally reminds me of myself when I was her age.  With schooling and Parent's especially!  Like fearing said, she's like a little sister to everyone here!  Sometimes I just want to call Queenie up on the phone to make sure she's doing okay and ask her how things are coming along these days.  I see a picture of Dane Cook and I think "QUEENIE!" before I even listen to his jokes and I crack a big smile!  I know that she and I share a horrific anniversary date for a memory and my heart aches for her feeling sad...the carbon copy sad that I feel at the exact same time.  Sine we "met" here I think of her first now during that time and hope and pray she's doing well.
I love ya Queenie!  We all do!
