Well, our youngest daughter, Willow, decided to dedicate the space behind the couch to herself as a little hiding place to get away from Shadow, her younger, rambunctious brother.

Today, I heard what sounded like someone picking at carpet or furniture coming from behind the sofa. I look down, and there is Willow, plain as day, eating my purse! No...she wasn't just picking at it, she was picking pieces of it off and eating it! I thought to myself "Is there such thing as Pica for cats?"
I couldn't believe a cat would eat a corduroy material purse! She looked up at me with those pretty green eyes and moved her mouth as if she were talking to me. We had a stare off for a moment and then I picked her up and set her on the sofa with me.
How unusual...I just find it amusing.
Shadow is the newest addition to our family. He is our black cat. I rescued him from a pet store. He had broken a hind leg when he was just a tiny kitten, and at about 4 months, we adopted him. He likes to get in to everything. I constantly have to be on top of him. If I'm not, something will get broken or lost. He is quite possibly the sweetest cat I've ever had. Right before he takes off running, he'll purr with a little coo and it sounds like he is revving up his engine! He likes to come up to your face and touch you nose to nose, and look right into your eyes. He has dark brown eyes, and he is a little bundle of joy. We found out recently, he knows how to say "Hello"! I looked at him one day when I was getting his food, and I said "Well, hello!" And he responded with a loud and clear "HELLO!" I laughed and said it again, and he responded again with a clear "HELLO!" It's become a ritual of ours. He will come running down the stairs and I will welcome him. He'll jump on my lap, press his nose against mine and I will say hello, and he responds with a lovely hello.
I have the most wonderful children in the world! Here are the two oldest, Mugz is on the left, Skitz is on the right.
