Today, I'm getting hypnotized to lose weight.

It's a little unconventional, but I've known for ages that the real key for me to lose weight is in my mind.  I know what to do and how to do it, but I always seem to move two steps forward and one step back.  I'm hoping this will unlock whatever it is in my brain that causes me to stumble.

I'm doing this through a DVD from a certified hypnotherapist who has been doing this for 30 years.  I will watch the DVD and then have a reinforcement CD that I will listen to daily.  It will be like a personal session in my own living room.  I have high hopes.

I'll let you know my progress....no....my success!

CW good luck, now don't be getting "too skinny"!! That isn't good either.

    Fallyn,
    I will do that.  :-)

    quietone,
I promise I won't get too skinny.  I want to be thin enough that I don't need precription medication anymore.  :-)

cw two steps forwards one step back you should be making progress lol.

    blue,
I am making progress, but I'm impatient.  :-)  I want to be thin now. I look at it as stacking the odds in my favor.

Here's to your success!  Am I a bit premature in celebrating this?  I don't think so.  :)

    Woohoo!!!!

For me, losing weight is all about motivation. I lost 70 pounds over a number of years, but gained back a lot of it. I'm still lighter than I started though. I got sick of eating like a pidgeon.

    Grape,
Thank you.  :-)  I can always use the encouragement.

    lfb,
I lost about 80 pounds over several years too.  I still managed to end up with diabetes.  I'm working to stack the odds more in my favor.  I've kept off most of what I lost before but I seem to teeter totter with a few of those pounds.  Now it's time to get serious again.  :-)  I guess I'll be a healthier pigeon. It'll be worth it.

CW: I hope this brings you the success you want at the rate you want. I know your impatient, but losing too much weight too quickly isn't a good thing either. So, I hope the hypnosis brings your weight loss some balance.

Just keep in mind that it's not always about the number on the scale but how you feel.

    Zayda,
I sort of plateau out as I go along.  I'm hoping this will get me in the right mindset to keep on track.

Now, if I could just convince my doctor that the number on the scale was just a number.  :-)  I feel a bit of pressure.

Everyone plateau's though. That's generally a sign that you need to change your exercise routine, vary the type of exercise you are doing, or increase the intensity of your workouts.

I'm waiting for some nice weather to get more walking in.  That will probably be the nudge I need.  I do fail where exercise is concerned during the winter months.
