Well Schmuck, hate to tell you, but it ain't worth it. Chances are, you'll ruin the friendship. Now I know all men have gone this route before, thinking with their dicks instead of their brains, but it never works out. Women have this thing where they pigeon-hole men into these categories weeks after meeting them. If you've known her for a while, the chances of things happening are even slimmer. If you've known her for maybe a week or a month, then you're not really friends, so be my guest. Who cares if things get fucked? You didn't really know her anyway. But if you've known her as a friend for at least 6 months, DON'T FUCKING DO IT! Unless you like rejection, of course.

I don't see a problem with turning a friend into something more... I actually think it's the best way to start out because by that time you really know and respect each other. It makes for a better "how we got together" story than "I was so drunk at a bar one night..." -

This just about always fails. Friends dating always leads to awkwardness if things don't work out and it makes it awkward for those around. Unfortunately, I've learned the hard way.
