Looking back over your life~in your most difficult situations~do you feel now, that you have transcended them? Or is it more likely you have, through blood, sweat, and tears, plowed your way through them to the other side, and maybe still hold the bitterness of that time?

Tell me what you think SC...

my thought on this is that through blood sweat and tears I made my way to the side where I am at now. I feel the only way to "get over" something is to go through it.  I have some sadness about things, but there is no bitterness.

I have to say that I do hang onto the bitterness of the worst of my experiences.  I did perservere and get through it.  I think the real lesson is to not forget those times but to choose to not act on the bitterness.

Time has a way of getting away on us, and regardless of whether we're ready or not, takes us to the other side of the bank.  At least that's been my experience.

I can honestly say that I've made some pretty poor life choices in the past.  Better yet, a lot of the times, my inaction ultimately turned out to be a poor choice.

I am not bitter about it, however.  It is what it is, you know?

I came to terms with that around the same time I realized that happiness with a capital "H" doesn't exist.  Now I take delight in the little things.  Sometimes that's all I have, but most of the times it's all I need.  :)

Most of the tough times in my life were created by me, so I don't really hold any bitterness about them. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed with guilt though. I wish I hadn't done a lot of things that I've done, but I try my best to just overcome that. And I've come a long way in my life from where I was just a few years ago. I try to just keep moving forward and look at the past as a lesson and not a failure. The key word there is 'try'.....

On the whole i've just got on with life, dusted myself of after adversity, but there are one or two things i'm still angry and bitter about, mostly with myself :-)

I overcame a sad and bitter time in my life that may have been partly my own fault.Recovery was not over night though.Call it infatuation..call it love.It hurt like hell because I thought I had somehow hurt another good heart.Time heals most wounds...and time is on our side,as the song goes.

honestly, i find it hard for me to gauge these things. i know there are things i will never transcend, things i've done for which i cannot seek forgiveness nor even feel right in asking for it.

for some things, yes, but the soul-scarring things...no. not ever.
