My grandmother (maternal) is a pretty cool lady. She is of the era when women were secretaries, when they worked at all. She got married out of high school and never went to college. She is an amazing cook, her house was always immaculate (dishes done after EVERY meal, without fail! I am still in awe of that!), and she raised four kids with not a lot of money. They are still married and so fiercly in love I get a little teary thinking about it! She went back to college in her 60s - in fact she and I were in college at the same time! It was funny asking each other what classes we were taking this semester. She has her degree now, in General Studies. Go Grandma! :D
So she is pretty modern, for a Grandma. She uses email, knows smileys and "lol". And she's half the gracious hostess and lady of the house, the mother hen who worries and obsesses over everything and everyone, and half snarky little old lady. I love her to bits!
There is a point to this post, I just want to stop to honor Grandma for a minute because she deserves it and I don't want anyone to think I'm making fun of her in a mean way!
So, my mom's 50th birthday is coming up. Grandma wanted to make sure I didn't forget to say something since it's a big occasion! So she sent me a little email reminding me of the date. And for a subject, she wrote, "Your Mom."
Do you have any idea how hilarious it is to get an email from your grandmother, about your mother/her daughter, titled "Your Mom" ??
BWAhahahaha!
