This post was inspired by an article i read yesterday about comments made by cosmetic surgery patients before getting plastic surgery.

Most women wanted their lips to be like Angelina Jolie, while others wanted other body parts to match Jessica Biel, Katherine Heigl and Keira Knightley.

I remember once hearing an actress mentioning that Mick Jagger had lips big enough to French kiss a mule. Ha-ha. Which guy would want that?

Seriously though, do you have a personal or notable figure that you would most like to look or be like?

I mean, a J.Lo walk combined with a Shakira waist, topped with a Dolly Patton bosom and all hinged on a Beyonce backside isn't so bad, IMHO.

What face and legs to put on that knockout physique? Just too hard to work on right now. what about you?

I can't really "piece" anything together here right now--but I wouldn't mind looking like Denise Richardson.  I used to think Helen Hunt was my "ideal" way to look, until I saw her on a late night show not too long ago.  She looked like an ad for cosmetic surgury gone bad...  But before--I just thought she was ordinary, plain and wholesome pretty. And I think Kirsty Ally has a gorgeous face.

Catherine Zeta-Jones is who I'd most like to resemble.  She is a classic dark haired beauty with a wonderful figure.  I also admire Jacqueline Smith, Elizabeth Taylor, Katherine Hepburn and other former beauties.  All of whom aged gracefully.

Me 6 kilo lighter, really I think I'm quite nice looking, I have a neat body but its soft, my face is elfin very hepburn, I have lovely hair and my features are symetrical, very symetrical, so really I'd just like to be 6 kilo lighter then I'd be me firm and beautiful.

wombat: I think those are great 'ideals' to link to. Yes, sometimes all it takes is a second look to make us do a double take on those we have placed on a high pedestal.

U-I: I agree.  Add Catherine Deneuve to that list. BTW, Jacqueline Smith and the other Charlie's Angels are simply fantastic even as grannies now.

Lucy: Hmmmm....I like soft, you know - sometimes, 'firm' can become tawny. I used to worry about my weight once. Now, when I do, I have a change of scene or diet.

As Rita Rudner said, 'Neurotics build castles in the air, psychotics live in them. My mother cleans them.'

Back to correct my mistake--It's Denise Richards, of course.  And I feel bad about the comment about Helen Hunt.  I still like her.

    sw: just vanity....
  • silverwhisper said on Mar 05, 2008....
why is it vanity to look like someone other than yourself, though? isn't that in fact indicative in low self-esteem, a lack of comfort with oneself?

sw: hi....you would understand if you've seen a Mexican Telenovella called 'Catalina & Sebastian.

You see, Catalina's mother was a driver's daughter but she managed to get her husband into very big debt living like her father's former employers, including dressing up and looking like them. Vanity: she had a very high opinion of her imagined status, even though practically all her rich friends knew that she was putting up false airs.

She may have been unable to face up to her true life, but she was very comfortable with her act.

Copy cats generally do not suffer from low-esteem problems, IMHO. Playing 'house' is good for kids, I hear. Cheers.
