As bibliophiles who has many books, the hubby and I really like the whole wall one with the grey settee/bench in front of it.
I also really like the Ellipse Bookcase, but not simply as a bookcase. That would be a great showpiece itself but also a great way to highlight 1-2 great pieces of artwork/glasswork and a few very special--perhaps first edition books. Because of its design, I can't see it as a bookshelf that you would fill up with books. In fact, because it's such a pretty piece of furniture itself, a minimalist approach to what is on it would be the right approach.
I kind of like the one with the pink chaise lounge built into it, which I think would look really good in a modern space. It wouldn't work in my house because it would clash with the antiques. :) But it would work in my campus office, if there were only room for it.
That staircase is indeed amazing. I don't know if it was the angle of the shots but it made me kind of dizzy looking at it.
Expendable: I would love to do that--the whole home in warehouse full of bookshelves. :) I think, though, that with an active child, I would need a basement playroom on my warehouse. :)
I have entirely too many books for most of those bookshelves... They look nice, though. I've filled every bookshelf I have in the house and are now piling up in corners. Sigh... It's one of few things that I covet, you see.
that was utterly amazing! i think that this one is reminiscent to me of wine bottle storage i've seen somewhere. the sticklebook shelving looks really nifty, i love how it doesn't create any lines itself, permitting just the books to do that. i do wonder how securely it would hold a large hardcover, i'll confess. but it would be great just for the space it would open up just by not requiring a proper bookcase. :>
