I am the center of my universe, as you are the center of yours.  I reside in my center, and everything revolves around me, just as you reside in your center, and all things revolve around you.  We all have various spheres of influences that shape and position our own universes.

This interaction you and I have here, is nothing but our spheres of influence touching, interacting, further shaping and positioning our own world.  This life, as I perceive it, is a dense web of inter-human relations that ultimately form the fabric of our existence.  So, because we all reside in different points on the plane of existence, I have to believe that the way to get off the grid(whether you call it salvation, nirvana, a deep sense of satisfaction, or general contentment, or whatever) for everyone has to be different.  A custom-made salvation for your custom-made life, dig?  A person living on the edge of the fabric can get off the grid simply by falling off, where as a person situated in the middle must necessarily be plucked off(or sink or swim type of situation).

Humanity experiences very similar events throughout the lifetimes.  We're born, we're educated, we feel, we hurt, we gain, we lose...  Then we die.  That's the ultimate mystery, the final getting-off-the-grid.  It's a mystery because no one's lived to tell about it.  The last secret kept by humanity.  In the meantime, we navigate this web the best we can, with what measly tools that we've been given.

There are many times when we feel unsure of our footing, feeling generally lost.  Even the ones who proclaim to know the direction, ultimately are walking around in circles along the Mobius strip, insisting that they're going straight the whole way.  I never claimed to know where I was going.  I only knew that I was lost and didn't know which way to head next.  I still don't know my place, nor where I'm headed.  I'm just as lost as I was many years back.

I am, however, glad to be lost at sea with such fine people to keep me company.  Though I may not find my bearing, I find comfort, courage, steadfastness and strength to continue on thanks to my immediate spheres of influences.

That includes you, my reader.  Each passing day, this place becomes more and more important to me, and the spheres of influences here get closer and closer to the center of my universe.

I may be no puppet, but many of you hold the strings.  Go ahead and give it a little tug.  You may see me do a little dance.  :)

As always,

Thanks for stopping by.

Grape.

I like reading posts like this because I spend a lot of time trying to figure these things out. Why am I here?  And, also--Why am I here?   I wonder if I am on the edge of the fabric and about to fall off?  Maybe I can catch myself with your strings.....

    Good writing!

try looking at it a different way...
it's not really all so bad to be "lost"

being lost gives you time, to wander, to meander
to experience the places you might normally rush through
    without a second glance

sometimes when we're lost, we find an entirely new direction
and sometimes we just stay..lost...put down our knapsacks
sip some cool water from the spring, and lie down in the leaves.
sometimes its just what we need to remind us that life is a journey,
not a race. we are in no hurry to get to the end.

I have extended my string (its the pink frou frou glittery one)  heehee

GrapeApe, I have a few years on you and I still don't know what my purpose is, or what my place is.  I think we just have to do the best we can in the place where we are.

I think we all circle among our spheres of influence, and sometimes if we're lucky our orbits interconnect for a while.

Hmmm.  I have no idea what I just said, but it's thought provoking, isn't it?
