I've had it with you people.

I was quietly blogging here, not being obtrusive or obnoxious, writing mostly to satisfy my urge for self-expression, and not expecting to be disturbed and bothered by the tangled lives of other bloggers. But then you came into my life, uninvited, subscribing to me, reading my posts and commenting on them, and naturally tempting me to subscribe to you, read your posts, and comment on them too.

You led my simple thoughts into a fearsome maze of complexity. You brought out a diabolical mix of emotions that I didn't know, or didn't want to admit, existed in me. Worst of all, you conspired with that sneaky conniving woman Gingersoul to bombard and embarrass me with noisy greetings on a day that I had wanted to spend in perfect quiet and obscurity.

In short, you all are a fantastic bunch of gentle, sensitive, smart, articulate, witty, seductive, brave, alluring, heroic, and lovely people i've never really met yet.

So this time I'm going to make sure that we are properly introduced, you and I.

Below is an alphabetical listing of all of you who are currently subscribed to me (plus those who greeted me last week in ginger's blog). I will try to summarize in a few words what I know (and like) about you. But you're too many for me to cover in one sitting, so I will do this gradually, starting from the lesser-known bloggers.

Consider this as my attempt to rewrite your SC profiles the way I like it. Or, since this will be a painstaking slow process, you might want to jump the gun on me by re-introducing yourselves in your own words.

Ok, here goes...

-ocean- -- lives and breathes the water world; likes hot baths and drinks and breathtaking views, plays sax and flute... last blogged Jan 16. hey ocean, come back and swamp me!

gingersoul -- A cosmopolitan alien from Italy stranded in the wilderness of Texas. Beautiful woman from the inside out. Talks (and writes) with a funny accent, but blogs with the utmost candor and clarity about her life and loves, her homes and dreams, friends and family, literature and music, food and wine. Loves the sea, clouds and chocolate, looks good in high boots. Sometimes chases butterflies with me. Indisputably in my mind, Soulcast's absolute best all-around writer, an excellent poet and literary gourmet, and my all-time favorite.

GrapeKoolaid -- One of SC's finest writers, shifting easily from light humorous and personal essays to more serious ones, including forays into SF. A doodler, music dabbler, critic of human follies, victim of a broken heart like me, and if you haven't noticed yet, a deeply caring and insightful man. (Flirt, actually. LOL.) Says he's really into mixing sodas, Gatorade and Mountain Dew, which he calls Gator Dew. One of his early blogs inspired me to write a piece about sleep-talking in prison.

hotaka -- Lives in Japan with his girlfriend and lots of photo equipment. Teaches children, loves to climb mountains (took his name from Mt. infernal -- i had long wanted to say thanks to people who subscribed to me. this is my chance to say thanks to them individually (that includes you of course). i figure that it will remain a work in progress for maybe a week or two. for me, it will actually be fun to have this chance to rewrite everyone's profile from what i read in their blogs.

hi everyone, and thanks for all the comments. when i posted this, i had planned to give priority in writing about the lesser-known and inactive sc bloggers subscribed to me, then work my way forward to the more active and popular ones.

but now that i think about it, i'd like to also give an equal priority to those who commented so far on this particular blog, and to my favorite bloggers however less-known or well-known they might be.

in short, expect a little random-like pattern in how i fill the list with write-ups. but don't worry, my hit list covers all, and i'll get to each and every one of you sooner or later. you can run, but you can't hide. i've got you locked on my crosshair sights... :-)

mamie, i'm practically ripping this off from one of your early blogs. AARWOC:

A wonderful friend and a wife, a mom to a daughter, a worker bee (hates lazy), a girlie girl. Lots of initiative and optimism, has strong opinions although non-judgmental. Stars in her own fairy tale, ballerina non-pareil.

Hi Moon! This is quite something! Until I read your blog my description said nothing. I had to scratch my head this morning and come up with something to describe me! I am telling you, for a while I did not know who I was and why I was and where I was! I read your blogs ofetn but I don't comment simply because I am rendered speechless every time I do.

skald -- this one's for you:

Icelandic lady writes a most steady and consistent journal, enriched with clean-shot photos, about her extended family, her crafts, her small island-nation, its history and traditions, and travels. I find her plain-folks, no-frills blog style endearing.

tinsoldier -- I like your profile better now. Would love to see how you tweak it further, although the problem is that the profile textbox limits users to only 150 characters. That's one reason I offer this particular blog, where I (or you) could write a profile as long as we want to.

polar -- I'm glad you liked it. I-i-interrog....interrogation you say? ((stutters, trembles in seat)) omg. can i re-schedule for april or may? i suggest you grill that scheming gingersoul first... :-)

to everyone who commented -- thank you for patiently waiting your turn... :-)

daily -- here's hearting back at you... ((nudges gingikins to the side again. hope she doesn't kill me for this... :-))

She's your typical, married, 30-something suburban Mom with a toddler. Loves music, adores Hugh Grant. Her daily aches and pains that nobody really wants to hear about is just a soft background to a lot of interesting stories and insights on daily life. (But why did you delete many of them??? And your pretty pics too! Grrrr!!! ... :-)

  • moonriver said on Feb 26, 2008....
grapey -- now hear this, dude:

One of SC's finest writers, shifting easily from light humorous and personal essays to more serious ones, including forays into SF.

  • moonriver said on Feb 26, 2008....
rollingc -- hope you like this:

A regular dude from Miami attends the school of life, one class at a time. Writes about cosmic beliefs, the supernatural, ESP and other stuff. Hasn't been blogging lately but his laid-back comments on other blogs always bring a welcome whiff of Florida sea breeze.

  • moonriver said on Feb 26, 2008....
mobil -- i thought i was high on peyote, my friend. turns out it was just plain cactus stuff. here's some nice shit about you. i just thought it up, it isn't necessarily true har har.

Veteran of the school of hard knocks, war, and life in the ruggedly beautiful big skies of Montana. Says he's husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend -- not necessarily in that order. His home-on-the-range blogs are endearing, marred only by his odd habit of deleting them soon after. He and I share a lot more common thinking than both of us care to admit. My occasional partner-in-crime in shocking the ladies with grossly outlandish camp lore. The in-house expert on outhouses.

  • TinSoldier said on Feb 26, 2008....
Yes, I ran into the 150 limit last night, haha!

  • moonriver said on Feb 26, 2008....
tinman -- most of the time the thought/word associations that run in my head are nonsensical, like a monkey randomly typing on the keyboard until he accidentally types a Shakespearian quatrain. the outhouse comment came as a rare flash of insight into the essential mobil... :-)

rc -- i think we should launch a petition campaign to ask him not to delete his blogs like poultry being culled out by the dozen.

This pretty lady comes from a musical family, is mighty proud of musical angel daughter and soulmate Lennie. A prolific blogger who can tackle any topic under the sun, but who, like Crybabylu, has a bizarre urge to put most of her blog titles in quotation marks... :-)

Ok, I got you good twice in just those two last lines and what did you do to deserve that sort of treatment? You were nice to me ! Geeze, it just don't pay to be nice to me moon hahaha. Seriously, we do have allot in common, we'll both eat just about anything hahah.........thanks moon

Thanks for that very kind profile.  I am very flattered, though I think there are many other fine writers, far more eloquent than I ever could be.  I'm just glad to be a voice in the chatter box, is all.  :)
  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
evil_twin -- i don't really see this as a big project, but somewhat more like a continuing trip of rediscovery that will set its own pace, lead me to wherever it goes.  here's how i see you, dude:

Kyle of LA chronicles his unfolding life -- from the adventures of single-hood, meeting, dating, and eventually getting married to Natalie (nurse_cutie), to the misadventures of living in a haunted house and a weird neighborhood. Writes with refreshing wit and honesty.

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
SikariChepiNashota -- thanks for dropping by, friend... :-) you being quite new, i'll have to limit myself to some initial impressions of your blog. i hope they're not way off the mark:

A Filipina nurse who uses Native American words for her username and occasionally speaks her native Chabacano, a hybrid of Spanish. She loves Stephen King, Neruda poems, pets, life in general, and meeting news friends here. As she puts, "man cuento cuento ya ta!" I like her style... :-)

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
MsStar39 -- back to you for the nice words and big hug, lady. here's how i see you:

Her blogs don't entail a heavy dose of personal drama or a long treatise on political issues; they're basically social commentary about life in America, in bite-sized nibbles, with a tangy taste and easy to digest. One of her early blogs, about holding grudges, inspired me to write a blog about handling zillion-volt grudges.

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
D6fer -- sure dude, you're welcome to join my little list. this is for you:

Repairs espresso machines for a living. Has strong opinions on global warming, liberals, immigration, and political issues. Loves to play online tricks on other bloggers. Ask him what D6fer means. You're in for a surprise answer.

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
lucytorial -- hey, lady. no streaking and dirty "do me do me now" words allowed here, pls. this is a wholesome family-oriented blog ya know... :-) but ok, you want me to do you now? take this!

Tobi Lee lives among the rainforests of Oz's northern territory, and is currently searching... for what, she will tell you when she finds out. A long-time SC denizen, knows her way around, and holds deep insights into the human condition. Don't let the sparsity and whimsical tone of her blogs deceive you. Likes to streak naked through certain blogs, that happen to include mine.

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
hotaka -- zen master say, utmost simplicity lurks inside mind-boggling complexity. i had to think real hard how to describe you, man. here:

Lives in Japan with his girlfriend and lots of photo equipment. Teaches children, loves to climb mountains (took his name from Mt. Hotaka), and takes professional-quality pics of nature scenes. His blogs are a rich tapestry of his life and loves, observations about earth, the sciences, and human follies. One of SC's finest. We share at least two things: a common time zone, and a curious interest on pig shit.

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
juliehalo -- thanks for dropping by. i hope this fits you insofar as you've introduced yourself to other sc bloggers:

Julie (also Candylane) lives in a small Midwest town, helps her parents run a small cafe, now attending college, and hopes to teach children via Headstart. She says "halo" is Chinook jargon for discovery or expedition, and thinks of herself as on an expedition through life. I think she's nice... :-)

ok, i'm taking a break from rewriting sc profiles for a few hours. but before i do anything else, let me just reply to the other comments that i've neglected for some days now... :-)

papajack -- don't worry, i'll think of something good that you'll be proud of :-)

wombat -- thanks for the nice words. i'm already excited to rewrite your profile :-)

husbandhater -- that was a mighty nice comment you wrote about me, lady. i particularly like "zany." i think i'll add that to my own profile, so that people are reminded not to take me too seriously... :-)

rainydays2 -- now i know how to write your profile more accurately. i'll include "hall of mirrors" in it :-)

zayda -- you may be the last on my alphabetical list, but you rank up there among the profiles i'd luuurv to write. with gusto. but i think i'll need to review polar's extended interrogation of you before attempting to do a writeup on you.

pepperman -- thanks for the reminder, man. i promise to be careful. if you see me taking too many risks, just ring that bell, man. i'll listen. promise... :-)

cindylu -- i'm sure i'll have fun rewriting yours, especially since babylu and papajack have been so vocal about your wonderful family... :-)

missmimi -- with an offer like that, hot mama, i think i'll allow you to cut into the line and go direct up front. i'm sure the others won't complain. rev up your wheels, pretty lady... :-)

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
carlal95 -- thanks for reading my blogs. i know, it's not always easy to write a self-profile that will be read by so many others. but maybe we should think of it as a hanging decor that graces our front door. if you don't like it, or get bored with it, you can always change it. don't worry, i'll write something for you, hope it gives you some ideas... :-)

stuckon -- thanks for joining my little list. now you're stuck with me haha.

namyogrl -- hi, haven't seen you in a while. i'm glad i'm reading you again. no insomnia. more like i saw a great opportunity to expand my explorations here.

grace -- i agree. it's crazy. and the longer i work on it, the better i feel about it... :-)

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
grapey -- it's always a nice moment here at sc when one's blog takes explicit inspiration from another blog, and when bloggers acknowledge a lot of good in each other's writings and thoughts. i guess it's this mutual learning process that i want to celebrate here.

memyself -- yes, my friend, i'm glad that the two of us follow parallel trails that criss-cross every so often. i'm sorry i haven't been dropping by your blog to say howdy these past days...

  • moonriver said on Feb 27, 2008....
ginger -- well, your blogs are full of references to your italian accent, which also runs through your writings. ok, i won't use "funny." i should say, quaint? cute? endearing? take your pick, lady... :-)

oh, and if you search your dreamscape world, my friend, i'm sure you'll remember that we did speak to each other quite a number of times. not with sound waves, yes. like you said, telepathy is the key. plus neruda, bach, and tori amos' butterflies... ;-)

livegirl -- i'm swamped in work today, my friend. but otherwise ok. hey, thanks for dropping by. you are so kind to me... that is, in-between your terrible fuckin bad-ass-bitch diatribes against the world at large, hahaha. so i say back, "hi livegirl!" :-)
