I just got scared because I thought someone came into the house---I swear it sounded like the front door opened so I went to look and see if the Mr. had come in. He's been good at surprising me lately by sneaking up behind me and saying something. The other day I was putting my make-up on in the bathroom and he said something to me in the open doorway when I thought he was sound asleep. I jumped and squeeled and yelled at him. He laughed and asked me if I was doing something in there I didn't want him to know about.
But just now I heard a noise that made me think he was right behind me again and he isn't even here--not time yet.
Turns out it was my bathmat falling off the wall.
(I rip it up after a shower and hang it by it's little cups on the shower wall to dry---household hint?)
It just fell and knocked a soap dish into the tub. Whew!
The other night I got scared at a noise and it turned out to be snow and ice falling off the roof.
Sometimes I turn down the volumn on the tv because I hear something and then the bed starts to shake a little--but I remember that we live near where trains rumble through. I don't hear Amtrak, but I hear the other ones. (The big bad ones with a purpose)
Once I was lying in bed in another place, another time, and swore I heard a car wash go over the roof. I never figured that one out.
But sometimes I get scared at unexpected noises. Ever happen to you? Even when you know immediatlely what it must have been?
