**I have known many, from many walks of life, from many schools of thinking, from different backgrounds, cultures, and upbringings. I have known men that have stared death down, and gone on to conquer their obstacles, their demons.
I have known lost men. Unsure in their footing, little newborn colts, coming into their identity amongst the herd. I have known those who are unsure of being men. what defines them? or better yet, the hot topic of who defines them?
After knowing, and experiencing being a part in these men's lives, I've come to the conclusion that my favorite type of man is~
a man who recognizes his as a quiet strength, who has as much conviction as any man, but realizes that blasting his wife with it, or starting a bar fight with it, is simply below him.
he is the type of person who would never think of parading a good deed up and down the street, he realizes his real reward came from doing the deed itself.
he is humble regarding himself, but has a certain pride in the woman and children which make up his family.
he recognizes that at the end of the day, it is his wife who keeps him striving, who keeps him satisfied, who he could not live without, just as she couldn't, or wouldn't live without him.
he has a certain reverence for all things created by a Higher Power. he respects the living things, and the beauty of nature.he can commune, be one with the forest, the rivers, or the fields. he is comfortable in his manhood. secure enough to know that blowing away a forest creature for sport does not make one a man. secure enough to know that a true man isn't recognized for the amount of beer he can drink, fights he can pick, women he can abuse.
A real man doesn't boast of his manliness, it speaks for itself.
This is why I love them...real men.
