I think I may a little behind a lot of people, but I just realized last night that I will see a "non-traditional" American president.  I love that he's black (clearly I mean Obama because Clinton doesn't have a chance), but I honestly would be just as happy if he was a she, or Hispanic or Italian.  Just anything other than a Catholic white male.  Just something different.  A change (smile).

This post isn't a speech on behalf of Barack Obama, because I actually like both candidates.  It's just amazing to me that I thought I'd NEVER see this.  I'm only 26 and I really thought it wouldn't happen while I was still breathing.  *Time to get very corny*  Now I kinda feel like anything can happen.

er, you did mean "protestant" white male, not "catholic" white male, right? IIRC, JFK is still the only catholic president we've ever had. :>

and i agree, this is incredibly encouraging. :D

nice to see you blogging again. :>

In a controversial move, the Minnesota State Elections Board has decided that Al Franken defeated Norm Coleman in a race that had Coleman ahead originally and now is being contested by the Coleman camp.
