Okay, I'm officially stressed today.  I got sick on monday, took yesterday off to try to curb this cold and I'm back to work today.  I am up to my butt in work, still need to make a few last minute plans for the wedding and I'm TIRED.

So, being the leader of the church I think I need to pay homage to the trinity of coffee, chocolate and tea.  Get their "blessing" to make it through the day.  Go to that happy place where the smell of coffee scents the air, dozens of types of chocolates cover the table I sit at and a fine cup of tea is always hot, full and just sweet enough.

Anyone want to join me today?

Sounds wonderful, it would be even better if you were at home and you could lie on the couch with your feet up, (take another day)
  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 20, 2008....
Batty - I'd love to take another day, but unfortunately I'm irreplaceable. ;)  Seriously, there are things that if I don't do them today will take me a week to catch up on, and that seems more painful than being here with a cold.

  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 20, 2008....
mobil - not even a nice cup of herbal tea?  Yes, the truffles are filling my head with wicked thoughts.

count me in! Anything is more manageable with the Trinity at work!! mamie
  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 20, 2008....
Mamie - amen sister!  I don't officially start work until the coffee cup hits the desk.  Something my big boss has learned and respects.

I'm sorry you're so stressed u-i, I hope the coffee and chocs have helped.

Hey U-I, time to stressLESS!!  Sorry to hear its been hectic. . .the time leading up to a wedding tends to make most brides to be feel like this.  Hang in there girl and keep your chin up!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 20, 2008....
Alyss - while stress is inevitable, good chocolate takes planning.  I picked up a Godiva dark chocolate truffle at lunch time.  I'm "in the zone".

polar - I'm paddling as fast as I can.  (Swan looks regal on the surface, but underneath the water it is paddling furiously)

This is blasphemy and is insulting to the Holy Trinity.  You should be ashamed of yourself, making light of church and faith.
  • silverwhisper said on Feb 20, 2008....
    o hell yeah!

    can i get an "amen"?

[aside: psst, desert sienna, here, have a "lighten the hell up" pill, you could really use one]

  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 21, 2008....
tizzy - Today we're serving a rich Kona coffee.  It has been a very good day so far.
  • tizzygirl said on Feb 21, 2008....
Sweet!  I could use some of that right now.  I want the super sized one please.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 21, 2008....
tizzy - coming straight up!!  Do you take cream or sugar or anything special in that coffee.  I have a killer french vanilla syrup I can add.

queen - you you you you you!!!  I have a very delectible piece of belgium chocolate just for you.

tizzy - MMmmmm Kahlua!  Of course.  I was going to suggest some Irish Whiskey a little later today, but the Kahlua will do just fine.
  • queenparanoia said on Feb 22, 2008....
    yummy... =)
  • tizzygirl said on Feb 22, 2008....
I'm craving the Kahlua!  I saw the bottle in my cabinet this morning and it took all my willpower not to accidentally tip it off the shelf and have it's cap miraculously fall off and then, oh my, spill into my morning coffee!  I figured I should probably come to work sober.  Damn.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 22, 2008....
tizzy - ahhh come on!  You take all the adventure out of work by showing up sober ;)
  • tizzygirl said on Feb 22, 2008....
You're so right!  What am I thinking?  There's a bar right around the corner....I think I'll go drink my lunch today lol!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 22, 2008....
tizzy - calories are calories, and the added benefit of your bosses being easier to deal with after a couple of drinks make this a capital idea!!
