Ok, well I promised Jade a tale about the movie I was in so here goes...
I was reading the Chicago Sun-Times one day and in the Sneed column I noticed that they were casting kids on bikes, babies, toddlers, and moms with babies for a movie being filmed in Chicago. Since my sister-in-law had a toddler and a new baby, I decided to make her come with me and my daughter for the open casting call. So she did. However, I had neglected to tell her that she had to sign up too. :)
She was mad at me because she hadn't gotten all done up, but I told her if she would do it, so would I - and I had on NO makeup and my hair was in a ponytail.
Now mind you, there were people there with resumes (or whatever they call them in the film business), 8X10 glossies, done up to the nines. So anyway, we all had our pictures taken and went back home.
Imagine my surprise when three weeks later I get a phone call "Hello Ajinia - this is Eric from Paramount Pictures". I was sure this was some telemarketer trying to sell me something. "Yes?" I answered.
"We were wondering if you were still interested in being an extra for the movie we are filming? We will be shooting from 6pm to 6am for the next week. Oh, and we'd like to hire your car as well. We guarantee tens hours a day at $6.50/hour even if you're sent home early."
"Uhm, yeah. Sounds great! Thanks. I'll be there."
Of course there was much more to it than this - they had to tell me where to go, where to park, what type of clothes and makeup I should bring with. All of that stuff. So two days later I arrived at my first day.

Hey, on an interesting note, my husband's family leaves in Toledo, Ohio--and everytime we are going towards his parents' house, he will point out Katie Holmes' parents' house. His sister went to school with her sister. I think were friends (but not quite certain on that score & I don't wish to inflate my statement. BTW--sorry I addressed you by the wrong username that day. Some days (not always--*sniff*) I have a lot of comments. I try to respond to everyone b/c it made me feel welcome when people did the same for me. Sorry for rambling! That is really cool, Mama! -

Want to know what's really funny? I actually read it the way that you meant it. Until I read your second post, I didn't realize that there was anything wrong with the first. LOL Oh, and don't worry about addressing me by the wrong name - they both began with A. :) On another note, do you know the show America's Next Top Model & My Very Brady Wedding (on VH-1)? The girl that married Peter Brady won America's Next Top Model the first year (I think). Anyway, She went to school with my sister - she was one year ahead of her. And, her rehearsal dinner was at the house right next door to my middle sister's house on the same day as my niece's christening and VH-1 was filming, but they made sure when they edited it that you couldn't see her house at all - we figure it is because there were people all over and they didn't want to have to get us to sign anything for being featured. :( -

Hey--don't worry about your run-ons. As you may notice, I employ lots of dashes! I am notorious for having convoluted sentences. Sometimes I just chalk that up to being how I think. In revealing how I think, I develop a voice. Don't worry--it's all good! -
