I thought of you when I went past this house nearby where I live.  It has been there for a long time and is old.  Here in this state they won't let you redo any house that has old trim like this on it from what I hear.  Thought you might like the looks of this ... what do they call them...  wedding cake house?  I forget.

At one time this house was painted with yellow and purple...I think this is much more suitable color.  It was funny ~ as I just pulled to the side of the road and took the picture from my truck, my BIL went by me, I waved sorta.....and right behind him came some flashing blue lights.....a cop pulled him over.  I think he must have knew the guy as when I went by my BIL was laughing. whew for him

Quiet: Oh, that is simply beautiful. :) Thank you.

I love the delicate trim work. And yes, they call them wedding cake trim or gingerbread trim. :)

would'nt it be something to walk through this house i have never seen a full size door in a top story with no balcony.this house belongs to an era when houses had beauty about them.

cry ~ well that stone one is for sale...and its right by a church too!

Zayda ~ yes I have always liked the trim work too...so delicate looking.

bluegum ~ I have never noticed in the times I have gone by this house the door until I took the picture.  It reminded me of that movie Zathura or Jamangi where they open the door to nothing!

I absolutely love that house!  Buy it for me, ok?  I'll pay you back later...ha.  I love all the older houses around here and would love to live in one--all the character--ghosts and all!

Wombat ~ some of them are pretty cool ~ the one for sale is between you and me!  Ha!!  it is way better than this one as the other one is made of stone

Wow again!  I like the way you are all sharing these photos.  Zayda must do something in nonverbal communication...or else, this is really just a hobby.  But our architecture certainly does communicate, doesn't it Z?  : )

quietone:  I can't believe how I miss comments and posts the way I do--sorry this is so late.  I want the one made of stone!  My absolute favorite....I would love a stone house with gables and turrets and doors and this kind of fancy artwork..... the whole nine yards.   I will look for this house and others on our "drives."

truthsayer ~ Zayda started it with her fine photos.. I also like unique architecture as well.... and you don't find these houses much anymore.  thanks for stopping by!

wombie ~ I hope you do get to see that house....how cool it is!  I had a pic of it, but I think I got rid of it! If I find it I will send it to ya!
