s'casters: daydreaming preoccupied most of us when we were younger. we would immerse ourselves in the fantasy of walking hand-in-hand with our crush; we would imagine ourselves marrying the perfect partner, and building our lives and our dreams with him/her.

now that we are adults, do you still engage in daydreaming?

adults... who said anything about being an adult? why do we have to grow up! huh???
    LOL

I've had years and years of experience in day dreaming and now am fine tuning the art of daring to day dream BIG!

Day dreams are such a huge part of my life, if it were not for the shower fairy, the toilet fairy, sunrise fairy, sunset fairy, blue sky white fluffy cloud fairy... I think I'd be a manic depressive.  I call them fairies because I let silly thoughts wander around and create an idea or concept then run with it for hours.....

    Still akid at heart.

lucy, we are all encouraged to forever remain childlike, the bear the innocence of a little one. i guess many, if not all of us still day dream on a variety of matters and for varied reasons.

brit and featherpet, join the club!

This should have been my name... when ever my mom went to Parent teacher meetings they would say "Margaret is a very smart and lovely Child!" If she would come down from day dreaming and join the rest of us she may just show this world a thing or two... still dreaming ;-)

Who you calling an " Adult " ?

Yes I daydream everyday and in everyway.  I think it's healthy to keep your mind occupied and since I'm not a rocket-scientist I guess my daydreams mostly consist of what " could-have-been " on any given subject.    :^)

I make up lots of little stories to play in.

hi all! i guess your comments unmistakably points to one clear conclusion. all of us children from 1 to 92 still day dream. it is a healthy past time. whoever said to think is to create is obviously a daydreamer too.

thank you all for sharing your thoughts.

Some of the worlds greatest discoveries have been made whilst daydreaming and touching something we shouldn't have...

Quite appropriate and eloquent wouldn't you say?
  • quidnunc said on Feb 14, 2008....
i could not agree more with you lucy. it is perhaps while daydreaming when one's brain juices are working, and the subconscious at its sharpest.

I'm not 92, but I am one of the older S'casters, and I daydream all the time. Like Waking, I was the one looking out the classroom window.  We can't always think about important things, we have to let our minds play sometimes, and my mind is happiest when it's daydreaming.
  • quidnunc said on Feb 14, 2008....
twy, like you, my mind is most relaxed and at its happiest state when it's daydreaming. indeed, our minds are designed to wander about, not to idly sit around.
  • Lioness said on Feb 14, 2008....
Yes! It's always nice to "escape" from reality sometimes.. :D

ALL THE TIME!  I hate it when someone snaps me out of it too!  I agree with Lioness...escape from reality!
