Our goal at Orchard Ridge Farms Inc. will be to create a sustainable crop of apple trees using the most organic approach available. We will minimize the use of commercial insecticides, pesticides and herbicides to ensure our apples are human friendly for consumption.
Although apples will be a main part of ORF's core business, we will also be growing pumpkins as a fall crop along with numerous fresh vegetables. All items will be for sale at our Future Farm Market along Yale Bridge Rd approximately in 2009.
We look forward to producing high quality Organic fruits and vegetables along with delicious pies, cookies and ciders for your enjoyment.
Opening in the summer of 2008, Copperstone Inn is the first part of a long journey for owners and proprietors Richard Spanton Jr. and his wife Chrissie Spanton. Nestled on 130 acres of prime Northern Illinois land it is the perfect getaway for a couple, entire family or even a lone business traveler. Located five to ten miles from Rockton and Beloit it is the perfect country location that is still close to many amenities like restaraunts, shops, state parks, historic sights and other fantastic activities. Also Copperstone Inn is roughly twenty minutes from the larger Rockford, IL which also has numerous activities including theater, sports teams, golf, restaraunts, etc.
