I am updating the HR files and would appreciate your assistance in verifying the correct home address for each of you.  Please send me your correct home address so that I can update what we have on file if necessary.

I thank you for your help in advance.

I don't want to sound cranky here, but I've been getting at least an email a week asking me for my address.  Hopefully we can get this finalized within the system...

Okay cranky pants (just kidding!)

Sorry for the repetition Frank.  I didn't realize that anyone else in HR had questions.  We're trying to match up all of our files to the shipping software so that we don't have wayward packages.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the info.  I am now carefully folding my cranky pants and putting them away.

Please keep in mind that the company I work with is on the conservative side when it comes to business practices.  I have only met Frank once (due to the fact that he lives in China) so it was probably somewhat risky to call him a cranky pants.

Though it did take him a week to respond.  Doesn't he know how valuable my time is?!!

No you are merely HR.... sounds awful even though without HR he would have no one to be cranky with but hey lets face it in a big corp your silly questions are waisting his time.

I meant no offence by that, its from experience unique..

i was in a situation once where I was organising marketing material for a multi million dollar property, it was my job to organise it and my staffs job to provide me with the information, however basic.

Lets just say that numerous complaints were made against me due to my "nagging" ~ I missed the deadlines for certain publications and then got my ass bawled out for not getting the info on time having been told in the same review that I need to stop "nagging" it was at that point that I provided all of my contacts in various publications with the private mobile numbers of the staff concerned.

Situation dealt with however the boss hated having his time wasted.... even though its important to smooth opperations bosses don't give a damn.

To lighten the load by not using protocol can help to lessen the bridge between "I don't care its trivial" and "Oh that girl, she's good"

    Just Lucy's 5 cents.. *-}

Oh boy. I have a forgetful boss who tells me one thing today and tells me another tomorrow concerning the same issue. He had the nerve to tell me I need to take notes coz didn't he tell me yadda yadda blah blah blah? See what I mean...he is not consistent.

Anyways, gotta agree with Lucy about the office heirarchy...."little people" are seen as a waste of time by most "big people." As far as they are concerned, you are on their time. Yet dare you make a mistake by sending information to the wrong address, then you will surely get the tongue lashing and "You shoulda emailed me to verify!"

Hope calling him Cranky pants helped!

Lucy - yeah, it's silly to make sure his annual salary information gets to him.  I mean, if he moves or something I'm sure he won't mind if the new tenants get all of his financial information. ;)

cntlvmenuf - I'm sure he'll poke fun at me next time he's state side.  I think just my explaination of WHY we were nagging him helped though.
