snow globe

Have you ever felt like you were inside a snow globe looking out?  This is a picture I took today from my back deck...   Oh where is spring.

Of course I imagine someone will say....oh how pretty....!! I have had enough of being inside this snow globe!!  Well, it is kinda pretty if you don't have to shovel it!!

I hate snow. It means I have to go out and shovel my ass off in order to get the cars out.
  • quietone said on Feb 10, 2008....
I know what you mean...I do my own shoveling too...well, I also have a snowblower..but I have to be the one that does that too....I hate snow also.

It is the. it is beautiful. I can understand you longing for the spring so am I. Luv
  • quietone said on Feb 10, 2008....
skald ~ the snow flakes were so big, no time at all where I had shoveled was covered again.  It has now stopped and the wind is blowing.

i agree, shoveling snow is quite a job. my dad always did it when we lived where it snowed. that was the only winter we lived there. but yes, the picture is pretty. i miss the snow !! and sliding down the street in my tennis shoes to get down to the schoolbus was a lotta fun even when i fell on my butt =)
  • quietone said on Feb 10, 2008....

destiny ~ if I only got enough to make a snowman and it would all go away...ah, yes, I could deal with that...heck you can have my whole snow globe! LOL

brit ~ when I was younger...well "young" I used to enjoy it a lot more too.  I can also remember sliding down the street in my shoes too.  Now I just slide down the street in my truck!  :(

  • Eilan said on Feb 10, 2008....
That's a lovely picture, but I wouldn't want to have to be dealing with it.  Where I live an inch or two of snow can shut things down.  It seems like the road crews are never quite ready for it.
  • CreativeWoman said on Feb 10, 2008....
I've had enough of it too.  Snow is deep here and the high was only 7 today.  I'm ready for spring.

I'm SO over it too!  I think we've had snow for the fourth day today.  I don't sleep much, I lose track of days.

It's SO windy out right now.  I swore I heard a mouse, but a tree branch was hitting the siding of the house.  Sounds like nails down a chalk board!

    Blah!

quietone~ uhoh sliding down the street in your truck isn't as fun !! hope there is minimal damage....at least you can make snow angels, right??? =)

Quiet - I am sitting here in 96F heat looking at your  beaut snow scene! Nearly 5:30pm and it is 96.8F still, that snow looks mughty good from where I am sitting! lol

We're expecting five to eight inches of that stuff tonight and tomorrow.  I'm pretty anxious about it to be honest.  I have to take my husband to the airport very early tomorrow morning for a 6 a.m. flight.  Waaahhhhhh...  I don't want to drive in the snow...
  • quietone said on Feb 11, 2008....

Eilan ~ I lived in a place like that too.  Out west.  I used to chuckle at the way the people drove in the 2" or less that fell.  They just couldn't figure that the no longer could stop on a dime! I guess some learned the hard way!

CW ~ when I took this pic, it was close to above freezing...that is why the snowflakes are so big? It was very wet and heavy..and added up fast!  Then it got cold fast too.

daily ~ I know what you mean I have a bing tree right next to my house and I hear branches drop all the time..(so far mostly small ones) It got windy here later too.

brit ~ I didn't hurt my new truck! Ijust put it in 4wd.  the only time I make snow angels now is if I happen to fall that is my snow angel!  I have not done one for a while... I like it that way!

rupe ~ oh, I bet it does look very inviting to you about now.  If I had a way...believe me, I'd send ya some...a lot of some!  LOL

Mimi ~ Oh, please keep it there..I don't want any more!! I don't blame ya, I wouldn't want to drive any where either...only to work, and that is less than a mile...I can do that.  I hope you have/had a safe trip.  I heard that a lot of flights were delayed up to 2 hours this morning...I hope his flight was not one of them!

Quiet -  inviting - Oh yeah!!
  • quietone said on Feb 11, 2008....
I can hear it hit the pavement there already sssssss!  I don't envy you there either...too hot for me.  Does it get humid too or just dry heat?
  • rupert7 said on Feb 11, 2008....
Quiet, it is humid but not as humid as Queensland, where Lucytorial is. She is in the tropics!
  • fearing said on Feb 11, 2008....
Oh Quiet, my first thought was "That is BEAUTIFUL!"  but then I remembered what it is like to be trapped inside with kids eating me out of a house and home for days.  We don't get much snow here.  That makes it very exciting and comical.  The newscaster mentions "flurries" and suddenly there is no bread or milk in the grocery store.
  • pickersplock said on Feb 11, 2008....
It does look pretty, but it's horrendously cold here today!
Are you freezing up there as well?
  • hinana said on Feb 11, 2008....
Oh I love snow =P Only not teh cold that comes with it.
Here, they wont cancel school even if we have over a foot of snow, an my aunt wont drive in the snow, so we end up bussing. Which isnt so bad, but walking in that much snow, when its COLD is horrible.
    It is pretty though.
  • secretlife said on Feb 11, 2008....
LOL....my first thought:  oh how pretty.
of course we haven't had much snow yet, so i'm kinda wishing your weather was my weather.
  • Zayda said on Feb 11, 2008....
I don't mind the snow, to be honest, or even the shoveling of it. I'm just tired of the bitter cold. I'm tired of the -15 and -25 degree windchills. Ugh.

We are supposed to get more snow this week, and I won't be to upset by it; at least it will be warm enough to actually snow rather than just being so very very cold.
  • humorkat said on Feb 11, 2008....
It gave me a feeling of being inside a globe just looking at your photo.
  • sniggles said on Feb 11, 2008....
    wow!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 11, 2008....
It is beautiful, as long as you don't have to leave the house.
  • soleme said on Feb 11, 2008....

Oh!, What I would give to have that scene here at my house.  Although its chilly outisde, it looks and feels like spring, my daffodils are slowly peeking out of the ground, we have had so many high 60's and sunny days.

I love snow and do not mind shoveling, we live outside of the city limits, so we are on our own, those days that we do get snow  I have to park my car about 1/4 of a mile from my house and walk up and down a few hills, which of course I do not mind.

  • quietone said on Feb 11, 2008....
rupe ~ I had never thought to ask if it was humid down under!  I thought being out there an island...a big island of course...that it would be breezy all the time...shows ya what I know! LOL  although hawaii can be humid too.

fearing ~ I had my 4yr old grandson and he wanted to go out and play...granny is just too old and don't like the cold anymore :(  It was perfect snow for a snowman. I don't have to worry about a store as I have a Macs across the street from me..and a big grocery within a very short walk also.

pickers ~ yes it dropped way down after this snow..I think the temp went down like almost 30 degrees to single digets..it is sunny but only about 20 out now.

hianna ~ walking in that much snow is a real workout for sure.  I didn't mind so much when I was younger..(.and smaller haha)

secret ~  oh, oh.......be careful what you wish for!!!  You are welcome to any and all of what we got up here!!

Zayda ~ I don't think we have had only a couple windchills down that cold...and no I don't like them either...it takes your breath right away when you go out in that! If I had to choose, I would coose the snow over that -25 also.

humorkad ~ it did just feel like that...I looked out and said that same thing to myself....."I'm in a snowglobe"

sniggles ~ thanks for stopping by, and welcome.

Uniquely ~ I was out shoveling when this was still coming down...I looked like a snowman when I was done..it was wet and heavy snow.

soleme ~ Like I said to secretlife...be careful what you wish for!!! LOL  daffodils..high 60s.....I would give anything to have THAT!!  I would think that little walk is a bit of good exercise anyway.  I could also use that!  :)

Sorry quietone but I think it's pretty too :-) I'm sure I'd get fed up with it after a while as well.

Spring seems to have arrived here, I'm sure winter will have another blast though before its finished.

  • wombat said on Feb 11, 2008....
That's a beautiful picture, in spite of the content!  Ha..  Sorry I'm just now seeing this (your photo) but in all fairness, I saw it out my window, also!  It really is a pretty picture, though.  I just wish I was one of the people who could say, "Wow, I wish I could see that.."  (not!)
  • brit said on Feb 11, 2008....
oh good! i'm glad you haven't fallen =)  but snow angels are pretty cool!
  • quietone said on Feb 11, 2008....
battycat ~ well will you send some of that spring here please!

wombat ~ yes I am sure you saw the same thing in your little snow globe too.

brit ~ no I don't like falling! thanks
