I just checked my AdSense Account and I have made, since June 5th, get this....
$0.06 LOL. I have to laugh at that. Of course until the last couple of days I haven't really done any blogging, but still this makes me laugh.

Of course I have been guilty of not clicking Ads myself, but I do try to remember now and then. Although some of the Ads that are displayed have nothing to do with what the blog is really about. Are the ads tied to the tags or the words within the blog, or perhaps just the title? Maybe that would explain some of the strange ads that accompany a lot of blogs.

Maybe I need to ask who has made money from this site and go read their stuff, and try to figure out how to make the money myself. Like most, I started blogging here because of the possibility of making money by blogging. Likewise, I stay because I have found an extended family, not because I can make $0.06 in two months time. :) However, it would be nice to make some money at the same time.

Doesn't make much 'cents' does it? (Jade laughs uncontrollably, slapping her knee, at her wit.) Just kidding. Yeah, I kind of gave up on the whole AdSense a long time ago. In fact, I haven't checked it in weeks.
  • Heartwalker said on Aug 05, 2006....
Hi Ajinia, I made 0.11, but that too is a measly sum... well Iam here for learning from others,... but I agree with u, if the cents started to trickle in, and converted thamselves into $$$ , it would make me feel better, But I should say that Sc, is very informative, as u can read variety of stuff here.

It's not easy - but I have several blogs, and I do a little promotion (not a lot and not enough) - the way to increase your income from Adsense is to write often, and preferably keep to a theme. People will read your work and some will be intriqued by an advertisement and click. I don't know what the percentage is, and you can't ask people to click on ads, but it (the income) does grown, but you need to be dedicated and keep on blogging.
  • Elly said on Aug 05, 2006....
Oops. I meant to type "but it (the income) does grow" - an "n" appeared from somewhere.
  • Ajinia said on Aug 05, 2006....
Yeah, that is one of the few problems of SC, the inability of the commentor to edit his/her comment. :) I have made plenty of typos myself Elly dear.

i have made using this blog almost $100 in 24 hours. i could not make so much in last 1 year. this blog is really great. kudos.
  • alaa4july said on Aug 06, 2006....
lol who is that ? who made 100$ in 24 hours ? lol teach us what you made ? .. anyways i`m $0.00 since 3 days lol .. but whatever I found here good people sharing .. and many useful topics really .. an for me that is better than the money .. lol but the money will make me feel better too . ;)

we should be blogging for the fun of it.... not purposely for the "fund" of it...
  • tonka said on Aug 06, 2006....
Ajinia, your observation seems to echo the minds of all bloggers on soucast and related blogs where people hope to earn money and have fun. The knowledge we give and receive through blogs is invaluable. However, our expectations about our returns in intellectual property is also very high. This is the reason some of us find it funny that no one seem to have broken the Adsense jinx--financially. Someone did say he/she made $100 in 24 hours. I think that's simply one great hype!
  • silverwhisper said on Aug 06, 2006....
while that $100/24 hours does seem kinda nutty, i imagine that it's possible. before i finalized my adsense acct, i had one blog pick up over 6300 views. if only i acted faster... [sigh] ed
  • Pa.N.da said on Aug 06, 2006....
It's kind of hard since usually only 3-5/100 people would click on links.
  • missb said on Aug 06, 2006....
One of SC's ad tag: Make $1000 by blogging about your life IS kinda far-fetched though... :/
  • daredude said on Aug 06, 2006....
i agree with missb, SC's ad tag was indeed misleading, however i learnt one thing, adsense really meant adding up your cents lol
  • Ajinia said on Aug 06, 2006....
Yes, I do agree with all. I am enjoying myself immensly just by connecting with all of you regardless of whether or not I ever make money at it. Since writing about this topic though, I have noticed that I am much more vigilant myself about clicking on the ads. :) Surprisingly, I've actually found a couple to be interesting and have to go back many pages to get back to SC. I wish the ads would open up in a new page so that I didn't have to backtrack so much to get back to the blog I was reading. :(
  • JadeLondon said on Aug 06, 2006....
There is suppose to be another site out there that you can supposedly make $1000, also. But--here's the catch--they make you pay a membership fee of $12.95 a month (now isn't that convenient?). I haven't tried it. As much as I would like to write and make some money off it, I refuse to have to pay for the right to do it. Especially since it might turn out to be a scam. It would just make me feel foolish. Anyway, it was called BlogIt.
  • Ajinia said on Aug 06, 2006....
Never heard of it Jade, but you're right, with so many places (especially SC) where you can blog for free, why pay for that right?
  • Ajinia said on Aug 06, 2006....
Ok, just did a Google search on BlogIt and people not only have to pay to be a writer, but you also have to pay to read it!It says that the money readers pay is distributed among the writers they read. Hmmm, don't think so, thanks. :)
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Aug 06, 2006....
Well, I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but I clicked on an ad for ya. That ought to give you a penny or two... So far, I've made 2 dollars blogging(yes! I'm comin out ahead!). I think I'm going to transfer it on to my online poker account for a tournament. That's the way to riches(or destitution). Oh, wait.... Adsense account won't let me take out my 2 bucks.... Well, I guess I have to wait.
  • Ajinia said on Aug 06, 2006....
Wow - I am now up to 0.99 :) Thanks everyone. Now I guess I just have to keep on keepin' on. :)
  • fly_or_die said on Aug 07, 2006....
Hey,what if we could support each other out!I mean we all have a group of readers that when they read are blog's,tyhey could also clik on ads!!It wouldent take long, and I don't think Google will have something to say against it!!Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thing it's a win-win situation!!!
  • silverwhisper said on Aug 07, 2006....
fly or die: um...actually, that's a violation of the adsense program policies. you cannot ask someone else to click on your ads. ed
  • fly_or_die said on Aug 07, 2006....
what I was sayng was that if u are reading someones blog,u could cik on the ads,at your own will,I'm not sayng to ask someone to clik your ads! It's like common sense:when u go to someone's else house,u wipe your feet,u don't wait for him to tell u that!!how is that violate there policy?I don't know much about google adsense, but I still think it's not against rules,it's just another view of the sistem!
  • kdarticles said on Aug 09, 2006....
I would have to agree with silver whisper on that fly or die, although if I do like what I am reading, then I try to remember to look at the ads on the page. If there is an ad I want to look at, I click, but if not then I don't. I want to help people earn money, but I don't want to cheat the people who pay a lot of money to put ads on the Internet trying to promote something. Not to mention, when signing up with google, you agree not to click you own ads and also, not to tell people or hint to people to click on your ads. Well, it's just what I think anyway....

Hi everybody, we can make significan $$$ by bloging but we have to understand few facts first. Google and other major search engines are saying life should be fair. yea I agree.we should not look for short cut to get money. just do fair and the reward will come soon(by the way I have been bloging on Blogger.com and I am making money atleast $200 per month) the question is what is that 'fair' thing that Google(and other search engine campanies) want us to do? I posted one article on this issue. www.soulcast.com/yibeltalisme. there are many important advices out there. What I want to say is that first you have to know what to say on bloging.

I just started day before yesterday. First day Adsencse recorded $5.90, total yesterday was $6.50. Today nothing yet. Ya! it's not the money. That's why I am chipping in your blog. Cheerio.
  • foottuns said on Aug 12, 2006....
well by making money with adsense you need to work a lot and promote a lot. otherwise u dont get nothing from adsense.

  • Ajinia said on Aug 12, 2006....
Chazman: I am using the Ad sharing revenue sites on my blogger account because I can't find a way to do it here. Did you find a way around this?
  • Heartwalker said on Aug 12, 2006....
Ajinia and Chazman : I too use blogger for adsense, but it is not generating any revenue at all... If you find any tips, please pass them onto me.Thank you very much. yours friendly Heartwalker
  • Ajinia said on Aug 12, 2006....
Heartwalker, the one thing I don't like about Blogger is that we don't see who is reading us. Another is that I don't see a way to easily search for other bloggers who might interest us. Do either of you know a way to do these things? I mainly have an account at blogger because I had to have one for a class where we had to blog our responses to our daily readings.
  • Heartwalker said on Aug 12, 2006....
Dear Ajinia, Try out ||{1}|| This is what I use for searching out blogs that interest me. I mainly got a blog in google, because it is easier to get an adsense id, if you have a blog in blogger.I also keep browsing randomly using the " GO tO a random blog" feature in blogger. To my surprise, I have been led to some very good sites in that manner. I agree with you, we cannot know who is reading us, or whether anybody is reading us at all, morover now, it has become very crowded, I think Soulcast has also reached that point of critical mass, where only the established bloggers can survive here.
  • paidinblood said on Aug 12, 2006....
Hmm... after retrospecting on my first thoughts on finding soulcast the entire idea was to get paid while doing something we love to do: blog. Apparently it didn't say get paid BIG, large, or any of the sort; just the possibility of getting paid, even if that means $0.06. Anyway, I think what Sc has put up here is more of a knowledge treasure chest of sorts and not a mony treasure chest, at least for individual bloggers.
  • Heartwalker said on Aug 12, 2006....
Dear paidinblood, I agree with you, here is a great mine of information, and you can get paid too, and I think it will take some time... As for the information. you can get lots by reading various blogs and by reading the related ads, you can know many many things in a short time, whil contributing to the bloggers. ANd what goes around comes around, so in turn, thou shalt also be rewarded too.
