This past week I was ordered to testify for the prosecution in a child molestation case. I was the key witness. The problem with this, the accused is my brother.
To make a long story short, he was found guilty and now in jail awaiting sentencing. At the sentencing hearing in the near future, I have the opportunity to speak in his defense versus for the prosecution.
What would you all do? Would you make a sentencing statement for his mercy or would you all allow the judge to do his job? I'm torn... after all he is my brother but on the flip side, the victim was 14 at the time and he was 48.
Please give me some input!!!

Well, if it is a straight up child molestation case it is hard to speak well of the convicted, but on the other hand he is your brother.. I do not think that a compassionate plea from the relative of a convicted molestor will hold much weight with the court, so it may be something that would show support to your brother, that maybe will give him something to ponder while in prison. Hopefully it will show that his family supports him. I personally had an uncle that pulled that shit on his kids when they were 12 and I hoped that bastard burns in hell, even though before I knew the molestsation I really liked him as a relative, but in your case it is a brother, so just go with your heart. Like
I said, I do not think your plea will hold any weight with the legal system, only give you peace of mind or closure. -

I am sorry,I know this is really tough as he is a blood relative. There are consequences for our actions. In my opinion you really need to step back and let the judge do his job. It doesn't mean you should disown your brother,let justice be served and then support him in whatever way you can. I.E. prison visits etc, and when he is released, give him all the brotherly love and support you can. -

Speak to the Judge in a heart squeezing plea that results in the Judge placing orders for absolute castration as part of any sentence he/she imposes. If he survives the repeated rapes of his ass, his person, his psychic....know that for whatever reason you got even with --- yourself, he will not be the brother that went away when and if he returns, that is....if he survives....hehe...you may not be as lucky....Brother..lol
