Which of these do you subscribe to: Seeing is Believing or Believing is Seeing...? Both ways work, in my opinion...but they are polar opposites. As our friend Grace likes to say, maybe we need some of both (poles that is) to keep us on balance.
If you agree with people like Wayne Dyer and Esther Hicks...then you will need to get up and do some work in order to realize your dreams come true. There are several tools to use if you spend some time mulling through "Ask and It Is Given" by Abraham-Hicks. The act of expecting the good to flow towards you is also reinforced by Wayne Dyer, whatever his publications. He tells that if you intend, you can become. He also believes that you can use the law of attraction to receive whatever it is you want.
I was drawn to the Abraham-Hicks publication because it included some specific things to do to manifest your treasures. Whether your intentions are focused on health, wealth, or folly, you get to decide what is important to you AND then you get to have it. Some of the tools that the authors offer up tend to lean towards things that will pivot our energy from a sense of "lack" or have-not to one of "abundance" or have. You can have abundance of good things as well as bad so continue to check your FEELINGS. How you feel will always tell you whether you are on the right track. If you feel bad, then change your focus. I have noticed that I sometimes forget and fall into negative self-talk.
For a long time I would wake up and say "well there is that headache again. I hate that headache. This headache makes me feel crappy, I probably won't feel like going to the basketball game". After using some of the tips from this book, I started to say, I bet I will feel better in a bit. I will distract myself from this headache until it is gone. I will probably feel great by the time the kids come home from school and the basketball game will be fun and I look forward to running into many people that I know.
I don't know when that headache went away and I don't want to dwell on it too much or I may find it! I have done this kind of self talk to prep myself before business appointments and family get togethers (usually called "run-ins" hehe). I bless the situations and expect the best outcome. I ask for the highest and best outcome.
I have seen it work so I believe it, but I believed it would work before it happened. It has worked for material things and although I try not to define my self by the number of toys I have, I do like nice things and I can't always afford them financially. So let's get started: we have a treasure chest of goodies to behold!
Some of the tools outlined to assist our manifesting are the following:
The Prosperity Game: here is how you play....get out an old or unused check book ledger and old checks or make some on your computer.
Write in a deposit for $1000. Now for the fun part. How do you want to spend it? Go ahead! Write out the checks and fill in the ledger. You must use your imagination in order to get what you really want. I first gave half to my best friend "Visa Bill" and then I bought a mini-weekend vacation at the sea shore.
I was specific about all the things I would do at the shore, including dancing and having martinis with my friends.
Day 2: deposit $2000. yay! Spend it! I bought a new couch for the family room (the teenagers caved in one of the cushions-pigs!). It would be brown leather with those studs on the trim. It will sit across from the fireplace.
Day 3: deposit $3000. You get the point, go ahead and really spend it! Now I started ripping out pictures from my favorite magazines! I have a file because I am going to be spending for a long time! This collection of beautiful pictures of what you want is another tool: creating a Treasure Box. Actually spend the time looking at the things you will do, be and have and then tuck them secretly into your treasure box. Mine is a photo box that I am reusing for this purpose.
If you do this for a year, you will have deposited and spent $66 million! I have not checked their math, I am telling you what they published, plus I figured with all that money to spend, what time do I have to spare to check them and maybe I should just go buy a calculator!
What is the point? The exercise is to expand your ability to imagine. It is to focus your attention on a higher vibration than you may have had recently. It is to turn any feelings of lack into abundance. Therefore you increase your own state of allowing abundance.
I know this sounds like hooey. But would I lie to you? After all this time? I wouldn't dream of it! For myself, I am trying to increase my own measure of well-being. I have goals in each category of body, mind and spirit. I intend to give this life a workout using my strongest muscle: gratitude! Abraham-Hicks calls this vehicle of raising your energy a "Rampage of Appreciation". It's a landslide!
Please also understand that there is nothing you cannot "do, be or have"...so the work really, is to figure out what you want, focus on it, attract it and therefore create it. The final tool that I want to tell you about is the Book of Positive Aspects. Simply, get out a pretty notebook, and use it to fortify your gratitude or appreciation fo things you like or people you like. I wrote:
-what I like, or who I like
-why I love it so much
-what are the positive things about it
Let it flow and write as much goodness about it as you want. Do another and then do another.
Now we all know that bad things happen to good people. I like how Gary Zukav frames it in his new book "Soul to Soul". He says that things are not good or bad, right or wrong. He offers that they are what they need to be, given the wisdom of the choices you have made. Waking up to this, he says, is "uncomfortable". Oy.
Further, Zukav introduces the thoughts of Ram Dass, who says that when he (Dass) suffered a stroke that he considered it "Fierce Grace", meaning a life changing, re-direction in his life...but for a greater good. Talk about someone pulling your hair! I can name three instances in my own life that seemed to be fierce grace. Holy crap! And hey, yeah, each one changed my life....and I am good! So do not ignore the grace that comes into your life, even when it is fierce, maybe even especially when it is fierce.
As you can see, there is much to be done by your self for your self. Who better to work for than for yourself? I hope this makes sense. I am very excited about it and I do believe it before I see it. Case in point...I will be unavailable for the rest of the week as ....(drum roll please...) my friend has invited me to go to her home in Florida with her and so....I am going to the seashore, just not the one I had envisioned! Now that was a check worth writing!!
See it and believe it.
Believe it and see it.
Your call.
I do count YOU as a treasure....
