The first time I actually watched a game in years! Well, okay, I didn't really watch much of it -- mostly I was either cooking or on the computer. But still.

I was rooting for the Pats but regardless it was an awesome game, and an awesome comeback.

mamie: the NFC rises again! :D

That couldn't have been a better game, given the bits I caught of it. Any day the Patriots lose is a good day for football.  :-D

This was my very first superbowl party that I hosted...and the Giants did not let me down!!

Unbelievable! Manning is the MAN...and Plaxico?? Really, what a fucking catch!

    Oh boy...I so needed this!

As heard in World of Warcraft:    "Pats wiped to Giants. No soulstone."

It was a really great game. Although, I thought the second quarter kind of dragged on.

Ed- You know I don't have a team, but I did want the giants to win. I'm so sick of the pats I could puke. So I'll share your happiness.

I totally knew the Pats were going to lose...I HATE that I knew it because they're my team! I'm so okay with NY winning though. They deserved it! Did Brady stand up for longer than three seconds before he was crushed during any offensive plays?

I seriously went to bed during half time and slep until the last minute of the game. I came downstairs and Mr. Daily was totally bent. You would have thought someone died. He's going to have to seek counseling for PTSD! Oh well!

Catchers and Pitchers report for spring training in like ten days or so. Hopefully, Mr. Daily will be over this "loss" by Red Sox opening day.

    infernal: [giggle]

tbs: damn, that was your first superbowl party? that's fantastic! while i'm not crazy about burress's prediction, who would've thought that game would be so low-scoring?

super z: i agree it was a great game (of course). i'm not sure i agree the second quarter dragged a bit, but then again, i'm not exactly an unbiased observer... :>

beyond: please feel free to share it--i have enough for everyone! :D

papajack: hey, welcome! and yeah, there's no other way to put it!

rollingc: it was at that! :D

daily: i was amazed at how often they went to a reaction shot of brady, and he didn't look like himself! i guess getting knocked down that many times will do that. sorry mr. daily is despondent. i'd been having a feeling i should put money on the giants to win, to be honest, not just not cover the spread. :>

Ed:  I posted somewhere that I had a nightmare the Pat's lost and if I didn't say it out loud, it would happen.  My senses were off a bit on this one.  I just believed in my nightmare a little too much.

Brady just sucked, as simple as that.  I believe he sucked because his offensive line made him suck.  I woke up at the very end of the game and I was shocked at his attempts to long ball it!  Am I wrong...didn't they still have all their TO's left?  In my opinion (if they still had their TO's) they should have ran it!!!

The only thing I'm really ticked off about right now is that my house still smells like chicken wings and my fridge is packed with leftovers!

Oh, and Mr. Daily is calling in sick because he's SOOOO bent!  Not like he's going to be waking up with a hangover, he had one beer!

daily: well, no QB, even tom brady, is gonna look like tom brady if he spends no time on the field and is batted around the way he was in the superbowl. the giants d obviously confused brady w/ what they were going to do--and make no mistake, he's usually pretty damned good at figuring that sort of thing out!

twyla: i'm still hopped up on goofballs! :D

here's what i'm finding funny: sure, welker still got 100 yards or something--but otherwise, wasn't coach hoodie supposed to find ways to expose the giants secondary, the supposed weak point of the team? hm... :D

and what a loser he was for walking off the field early, poor sport! I am not even sure he congratulated the other coach, did he?
  • silverwhisper said on Feb 04, 2008....
well, failing in the face of history can't possibly be a good feeling, so i'm not inclined to judge him harshly for that, myself...

That was a pretty exciting game, and I'm not even crazy about football.
We were at the Soprano's Superbowl party again this year. LOL
There was all kinds of ruffian like behavior when the Giants came back!
It included lots of yelling, hugging, jumping, and fireworks!
  • dailyachesandpains said on Feb 04, 2008....
Mamie:  He thought the game was over.  He did walk over and shake hands and man hug the NYG coach.

Is it no surprise that a great amount of us (I'm shy of saying everyone) love Billy boy here in New England!? Rumor has it, we're not the most polite populated area in the country.  We get this show on our local ABC channel here called "Sports Extra" and coach Bill shows up weekly.  He actually smiles, laughs (here and there) and explains what they're up against with their next opponent by going over the other teams strengths.  He's the type of guy that just doesn't say much...he's like my Husband.  Not much of a talker, almost monotone, hard to read and can be taken as a jerk until you get to know him.

They (players) have said that if they didn't win the Super Bowl the whole season means nothing.  Can you blame them?  I don't blame coach for being pissed if he was.  I would be too.

Congrats Giants fans.....those guys played great!....beyond their abilities....I bet Brady was feeling it this morning! My favorite Giant is Michael Strahan....glad to see him get a ring!
  • dailyachesandpains said on Feb 04, 2008....

d6: hey, thanks man! and yeah, i'm glad strahan got a ring, esp after the miserable performance in 2000. but he looks like someone who's still having fun playing the game, so i hope he sticks around. more importantly, i hope steve spagnuolo doesn't bolt for the 'skins--he's interviewing with 'em for a head coaching slot. i don't get the idea of giving a first-year defensive coordinator a head coaching job, myself, but hey, it happens a lot...

daily: see, i liked parcells, no matter which team he went to--even the hated cowboys!

(sorry infernal, but i really hate your team. i respect 'em, but i hate 'em.)
