Dee went to the hospital last night with blood pressure reading of 202 / 97.

If any of you know anything about blood pressure, that is not good, her oxygyn reading was down to 76,   Instead of the 66 that Papa Jack originally told me.   ( His hearing isn't up to par sometimes)

The EKG registered as normal, and chest Xray normal.

She was kept overnight for observation.

 Please pray for Mama Dee.

Hi hun.   Sorry, if we scared you.  Dee is doing fine, hun.  They just kept her overnight for precaution.   Everyonce in awhile her blood pressure shoots up there, don't really know why.  But, they assurred me before I left, she's fine.  We are going to ask the doctor if she can come home with oxygen.  Her levels were kind of low.  Thank you for posting this, so I didn't have to.

Such a nice lady.  She sent a personal message telling me how much she enjoyed my first post on "Special".  Is this a surprise or does she have a blood pressure problem?
  • cindylu said on Feb 02, 2008....

bear:      I sure will let her know, and thank you for your prayers.

Papa Jack:  Thanks for good news. When I left the hospital, her color was off.

sniggles:    Thank you for the prayers and the hugs.

    humorkat:     Thank you.

carolinagal:   Yes, that sounds like mom. No, just once in awhile. Her heart.

oh, I do send my best wishes to you all. Jessi and I were chatting with her last night, so I am so surprised to hear this. Staying in the hospital is a good idea. Not only can they continue to look for the underlying problems but they can address the obvious immediately. Dehydration, all of that stuff.
It will be good for JR too, it is hard to be the primary caregiver, esp if you haven't figured out what happened in the first place.
Hope Grandma was well to day and best wishes to you all. xxxxxxoooooo Mamie

If her oxygen reading was that low ( and 66 is very low) the hospital is exactly where she needed to be.  Good wishes to all of you.

MissMini:   I am so glad they didn't send her back home.  Papa Jack is not able to help her, if she needed anything.  Which I doubt that she would ,but I know he must feel a lot more at ease that she is there and her condition is being monitored.  Thank you.

destinydiva:   Thank you for your good thoughts and hug.

Zayda:   Thank you for caring, and your good thoughts.

I hope I didn't miss anyone. This is so nice of all of you to take the time to wish us well.  All of you good wishes are much appreciated.

i hope she feels better soon, today if possible. it must be hard on you and your family to go through this. i know it is on me and my family whenever my sister goes to the hospital for yet another operation. possibly we can soon say, 'this too has passed'?

Oh that's so scary! I hope she gets better real soon. I think that the oxygen saturation levels are the most worrisome. It should be around 98% on most people. 66% is definitely a problem :(  Has she had breathing problems before??

I will be thinking of your mom and I hope that they take good care of her at the hospital.

I'm so glad she has a new doctor. Perhaps now something will be done about her heart problem...I don't think her previous doctor was doing nearly enough.
I wish she didn't worry so about everyone here at Soulcast, it just shows us all the immense heart she has...she thinks of all of us as members of her family, and I believe all the fighting and harsh words have upset her more than any of us realized.
I know this outpouring of love and good wishes will do her a world of good.

So not good. I'll pray for Mama Dee Lu. 76 isn't much better Lu it should be past 93 and above. Anything less is cause for concern. Have they tried the catheter method to unclog the blockage? Is that too invasive at her age. Shoe Cheney is getting all sorts of stuff done to his body so why can't ma Dee?

    Came in for an update.
  • lfbno7 said on Feb 04, 2008....
I'm reading books on MSM, a harmless substance that has helped a lot of people. There's tons about it all over the place, and it is often called a miracle. One of its specialties is breathing problems, lung problems. If it were me, I'd start taking 2,000 to 5,000 mg of it daily, spread out in smaller doses so the body is always getting some. Since it isn't a drug, it doesn't act immediately, it takes a few weeks. It is tasteless and can be taken in capsules or poured into apple sauce or water or something. There are no side effects, unlike anything you can get by prescription and unlike NSAIDs (aspirin, tylenol, etc.). So the only down sides of taking MSM are the money spent on it (it's inexpensive) and the trouble to take it (not much trouble). Many people rave about it. People stay on it all their lives, but after positive results are achieved, when they feel they don't need it anymore, they drop down to maintenance doses of 500 mg.
  • preacherman said on Feb 04, 2008....

Dee has been taking 1,000 MSM for the last two years that I know of because of her degenerative arthritis, but I will tell her she needs to double or maybe even triple that amount. Thanks lfbno7.

Cindylu just posted a new blog on the tests they are giving dee today.  I have to go teach school today.  Have a good one!
