I used to think I hated hot sticky summer weather worse than bonechilling snow and cold in winter.  I still hate hot and humid, but since we're experiencing it now, I really really hate snow and cold.

We are under a Winter Storm Warning for tonight and tomorrow.  Fun, fun, fun.  We're supposed to get some snow, but it sounds like the bigger problem's going to be ice.

Winter stinks.

Yesterday, it was in the single digits here, with up to 60 mile an hour wind gust. The windchill factor was between -20 and -30 throughout the day yesterday.
  • MissMimi said on Jan 31, 2008....

Oh yes, we had the pleasure of that too.  Tuesday night the wind sounded like we were re-enacting the tornado scene in Wizard of Oz.

Yeah, I know what you mean Mimi. You should see our front yard. It's still littered with some branches. Not overly large ones, mind you. Thus, they won't get cleaned up into a branch pile until this weekend.

well, if its any consolation...it is also headed in my direction.  Prediction was rain, sleet, snow, freezing rain....oh joy, I can hardly wait!!  NOT!

I realize I have no right to complain, but it's gray and overcast today.  No rain, no snow, but a bone chilling wind.

Mimi:  I'm with Quiet on this one...heading my way!  Mr. Daily WILL listen to me this time and park the car in the garage so it doesn't get hit a third time!

We too have branches all over our yard.  I can almost promise one will go through a window because I told Mr. Daily it will happen.  He didn't want to cut it back, so it's pretty much a given that he'll regret not listening to my recommendation.  lol

Me too . I hope this winter will be soon over but one never knows. It's the hardest we have had in years.

worse than that, Mimigirl is that you can almost NEVER easily get a tutu into a snowsuit AND look good with it either...so there fore I am F******'d till spring!
    hehe. made you smile!!

ditto! we ourselves have a winter storm coming in. it's been rainy, sleeting, spits snow. the other night it dropped 28 degrees in 30 minutes. the wind was aweful. so tonight is suppose to be bad. we'll see. take care and stay warm. see ya

I'm not sure what we're going to be getting out of this storm.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I was a scaredy-cat Tuesday night during the windstorm.  Ever since August I've been afraid that another tree's gonna fall on the house.  The girls would have been basket cases if they'd been awake.  My husband thinks we're silly, but, as I've reminded him many times, he wasn't here when that damn tree shook the crap out of the house!

well when you're finished Mimi we'll get your 'seconds'. Expecting 20-30 cm (8"-12") of snow tonight and tomorrow.

As for the cold...forget the temperature. Yesterday we had 100 km/hr winds - that's 60 mi/hr winds like Z had but...they caused windows to fly off of my new 50 some-odd storey condo building that's still under construction! Had the road cordoned off to keep everyone safe.

Yup I'm ready for spring too.
  • MissMimi said on Jan 31, 2008....

Eeek, ss!  You're getting it worse than we are!  Wind so hard, it blew windows out?  Yikes.  Batten down the hatches.

Eilan -- I'd be a scaredy cat too.  High winds especially at night creep me out.

MM&I -- we had that fast temperature drop too.  It went from cold to forking cold pretty fast.

Mamie honey, the solution is... put the tutu on over the snowsuit.  Then your butt won't look big.  :D  Just kidding.  I'm sure your butt is slim and trim.  ;)

skald -- You've had a lot of snow this winter -- I can tell from the pictures you post of your city.  Way too cold.

Ed -- feel free to complain about the weather.  I do all the time.

Daily -- the forecast keeps being revised.  Now I think it will be mostly ice, which is worse than snow, imo.

u-i -- gray and cloudy here too.  It probably will be till spring.  Boooo.

quiet -- oh yes, won't it be fun? :-\  I'm glad I don't have to go out in it.

See, this is just another reason I love you so much.  We are kindred souls.  I HATE the winter too MissM.  Hate!  Hate!  Hate!!!!!!!

mimi- Its really cold here. For two weeks now we have needed a light jacket at night. I'm hoping it will be in the sixties this weekend so I can smoke a turkey. This bitter cold hacks me off.
