Cecilia Cheung got married to Nicholas Tse in 2006 and after the birth of her son Lucas, rumours began to surface that she and Deborah Li were not on good terms. On the contrary, the night before Cecilia, Deborah and two close friends had dinner at Wan Chai Fulin. Deborah paid attentive care to both Cecilia and her grandchild, shielding him from the media. It appears that the rumours were not true afterall.

According to reports, Cecilia Cheung will not intentionally hide her son Lucas from the media nor the attention focussed on him by the media. She only hope for son Lucas to lead a normal life but his grandmother, Deborah's views are different. Being more traditional, she insisted her grandson be protected from the media's attention.

Nicholas Tse was not present at the dinner because he was in Shanghai doing commercials. Cecilia and the rest left the restaurant at about 10.30. Deborah and her husband came out from the restaurant first and when she saw the reporters, immediately went over to the babysitter and whispered something in her ear. The babysitter immediately held Lucas tightly to her chest, in a bid to shield his face from the media. They got in a seven-seater and eventually left.

The day before while in Shanghai shooting commercials, the now more matured Nicholas Tse had this to say when interviewed by reporters: 'I hope the next generation do not have to go throught the hardship that I'm going through now'. As he need to support the family, he joined the entertainment line at a very young age. He has many body wounds now due to roles in mainly action movies. That is why if it's possible, he does not wish for his son to join the entertainment industry.
