It doesn't matter who's President. We've survived (so far) an idiot, a paranoid villain, a religious zealot, an uninspired haberdasherer, a stroke victim,  a harrassed husband, a mixed blood, a gay, an unqualified snob with a sense of entitlement, a B-grade Hollywood actor, a pompous peanut farmer, a dim-witted college football hero and several other "edgy" office holders and still live to speak about it like it was nothing.

I'm curious too, I didn't recognize anyone you mentioned but the zealot?  Unless you are talking about the pompous peanut farmer as Carter, but I didn't know he was pompous just dumb.  I am so not a carter fan.  never was.

I want Huckabee then because it sounds funny. And we was a preacher, so he's got to have a lot of bullshit tucked away in there which is bound to spill over under 24-hour watch.

There is no actual proof (yet) that James Buchanan (#15) was gay. But I'll admit, it looks pretty good....

Dr. Leroy Vaughn says.... "The best case for Black ancestry is against Warren G. Harding, our 29th president from 1921 until 1923. Harding himself never denied his ancestry. When Republican leaders called on Harding to deny the "Negro" history, he said, "How should I know whether or not one of my ancestors might have jumped the fence." William Chancellor, a White professor of economics and politics at Wooster College in Ohio, wrote a book on the Harding family genealogy and identified Black ancestors among both parents of President Harding. Justice Department agents allegedly bought and destroyed all copies of this book. Chancellor also said that Harding's only academic credentials included education at Iberia College, which was founded in order to educate fugitive slaves." --- not sure why the evidence is "against" anyone.

I don't think it much matters, but unlike many others, I think it is one big washington socialite party, they each have their friends, they want dancing in and out of the whitehouse.

They are all crappy.  I wished Keith Oberman (is that his name) I watch him on MSNBC but keep forgetting how to spell his name.  I wished he was running.

Seen this after logging out and just had to comment. I like what you said, is the gay guy Hoover? And I don't consider Obama so Black he is Bi-racial weither this country wants to acknowlede his parental heritage and who raised him or not. Regan was a b-list actor with Alztimers running our country and who doesn't have black, indian, or any other nationality rolling around in their family tree? There was an awful lot of sex happening in the old days, shit even Jefferson was found to have black children( some of whom passed off into white society) and his black mistress was the 1/2 sister of his wife so how gross was that?

The dimwitted football hero-Ford yeah he was an egotisitical idiot.
Parionoid Villian-Mihouse Nixion yeah he had gumption to break into a competitor's campaign office.
And that peanut farmer wasn't all bad he just went senial after leaving office. Anyway gotta go. Be back later.

That sounds like an interesting puzzle. Let's see. The idiot - pretty much all of them. The paranoid villain, sounds like Nixon, no? The religious zealot, I donno, Bush Two? The uninspired haberdasher, I donno, nor do I know who the inspired haberdasher may have been, and in fact I don't know what a haberdasher is. A stroke victim - Wilson I guess. A harassed husband, sounds like Lincoln, but I'm sure there were more. The mixed blood - donno. A gay - obviously the Nancy boy president, James Buchanan. The unqualified snob with a sense of entitlement - I guess pretty much all of them. A B grade Hollywood actor - that's an easy one, Reagan. A pompous peanut farmer - well Carter is famous for his peanuts. A dim witted college football hero - Ford. How'd I do?

Since I still have to get up and go to work the day after, I don't really care who's elected.  And let's face it, they all make promises about the grand plans they have to make our lives better, richer, easier...and nothing changes, ever.
No one holds them to these promises because we all know there isn't a damn thing they can do to affect change for the better.  And, eventually we forget why we voted for them in the first place or, if they're really screwing up, as is the case more often than not, we just deny voting for them in the first place.
How many people voted for Bill Clinton?  Well, enough to get him into office, obviously.  When he hooked up with Monica, how many denied voting for him?
It happens every time, same ol', same ol'.
    Yicchh! I'm so apathetic.

Seven reasons not to vote for Obama and Clinton:

    1.  Defense attorney spouses:  who needs a bulldog like Bill Clinton for protection, a vote for Hillary is a vote for Billary, Hillary has had two terms so she has already outstayed her welcome.  Michelle Obama became upset when working-class Blacks questioned the legitimacy and candor of Barak Obama.  They felt he wasn't relevant so she accused them of playing the race card.  With spouses like that, who needs enemies?

    2.  Environment:  no good plans being offered, Hillary likes nuclear energy, and Obama doesn't know anything about economic issues.

    3.  Diplomacy: a choice between a headhunter from Borneo out on the prowl for some Iranian blood and a pacifist vegetarian convinced he can sweet talk Ahmedinejad.  Perhaps that is why Israel should independently and unilaterally act on its own, do nothing or some other approach.

    4.  Israel and Palestine:  The headhunter from Borneo believes that Israel should just 'do 'em in' and the pacifist vegetarian doesn't understand Israeli fears of militancy, suicide bombings and the demand for the right of return for Palestinian refugees.  With false accusations of apartheid and racism against Israel while their government counterproductively keeps seizing land in the West Bank, building up settlements, restricting Palestinian movement and cutting off food supplies and electricity in Gaza, there needs to be some smooth and effective diplomacy and negotiation here fast.

However, it would be wrong to force Israel to give up its right to self-defense without obligations and strings attached for the P.L.O.  They need to rework the Oslo Accord and rewrite the roadmap.  Palestinians have to accept that Israel is there, it's Jewish and it will never be Palestinan.  Nobody in the West outside of radical leftist hippies believe in al-nakba and the right of return or compensation, anyway.

    5.  Economy:  workers will get off welfare if they receive help with health care and daycare.  There is no need for a universal plan, just something to cover the 47 million people without health care.  Hillary's plan doesn't suit the needs of the medical industry and Obama knows nothing about health care.  Also putting up the minimum wage means inflation, higher taxes and paying more for goods.  It won't work.  It also punishes small business and people searching for full-time jobs that lead somewhere.  Better to scrap it all together.  People can always get higher-paying jobs later, go back to school or work more if they want to get ahead and no government can change the mentality of individuals who do not put their best interests first.  They have to deal with it themselves.

    6.  Taxes: slamming tax cuts while glorifying social spending and targeting the middle class seems to mean some cross between social democracy, tax cuts, spending and corporate welfare and favouritism.  I prefer a pure and unregulated capitalism, no Morgan Greenspan and John Marnard Keynes, please.

    7.  Race relations and feminism:  while I would never excuse any real form of racism and sexism, people also imagine them where none exists.  Hillary is guilty of this.  Nobody opposes a female President, they just want someone who is qualified regardless of gender.  The same can be said of race.  As for Obama's track record and personality, they don't resonate with working-class Blacks who want someone from their own background.

He is popular with white liberals and so is Hillary but she is willing to court the right-wingers while he is not.  This is probably why she will win the Democratic nomination but is it really about representing the Democrats and moderates or about winning?  That type of leadership isn't worth voting for. As for Obama, he cannot connect with his own people because they know a mixed race white liberal-hugging, privileged, private school educated guy from Hawaii more comfortable with diplomats than union factory leaders is not for them.

At this point I think its going to be Hillary come fall and the rest of Obama  will be spent on political theater over the long summers months.  Look for Edwards to be resurrected irrespective of who wins as either VP or AG.

However, I often wonder if the prize of making a  historical election for Democrats has become that equated to putting a man on the moon, and will be more alluring
in recorded history as one of race, gender and economics than ever....the will of the people.
