Likewise...has someone hacked my blog???? everytime I try to add another post I get a Server 500 error and I am locked out of SoulCast's server. I've tried from three different machines and the same thing happens. What is going on here?
• ALIENated said on Aug 05, 2006....
Whew. I am getting that, too. I thought I had been excommunicated. I think SoulCast Admin must have taken off for the weekend and everything got all balled up. Now there is no one to fix it. So we may not be adding any posts until they get back. Just a guess. Write on ... if you can.
• hunter_boyce_chandler said on Aug 05, 2006....
The server error 500 is actually a Microsoft Explorer Application error that occurs when you try to access an older MS2000 server through Cable Modem or DSL. I think SoulCast has a bad server that kicked on last night. Now only those people on dial up or running Mac OS can post. It's just a theory.

I can't post either. Every time I try to create a new post, I get this message: Application error Change this error message for exceptions thrown outside of an action (like in Dispatcher setups or broken Ruby code) in public/500.html And then, I get locked out. I can't post, I can't comment, I can't view other posts, so I have to close my browser and relog in to be able to even comment.

i too am experiencing this issue. it obviously isn't affecting all users though: if you look at the most recent posts, you continue to see new ones. ed

I am on Juno dial up and my situation is exactly asZayda described. I have to close my Maxthon browserand start all over. Help. I need a fix!!!
• JadeLondon said on Aug 05, 2006....
Well--Hunter just pointed out this post to me. I even called Cingular and complained because I thought it was my equipment. Got the same stupid message. So you think it is the kind of service that the blogger has--and not how popular you are (as Hunter suggested). It p*sses me off. I spent three hours typing a post to have to erase it! Wish we had an answer to this quandary.
• Zayda said on Aug 05, 2006....
I have a suspicion there is no tech support on the weekends to take care of this.
• hunter_boyce_chandler said on Aug 05, 2006....
I think we need to take over this blogverse. There is no reason we should be silenced for three days because some weenie didn't set parameters on an auxillary server. They really need us to run the system for them. We will make them rich and I really don't care. I want this place for my sanity. I am a writer that has no outlet except telling the odd story to a couple of stoned rockers. I have no agent. I have a 100,000 word manuscript that no one will read. I have worlds in me that are crying to get out.

hey, i was able to post yesterday. it's just two days, folks. :p ed

silver.. Monday is a long time from now.....
• silverwhisper said on Aug 05, 2006....
meh, it's barely more than 24 hours. :> ed
• Zayda said on Aug 05, 2006....
Silver, don't make me have to bite you, 24 hours is a long time when you are just burning to say something. Hmmmm...I could go read something and offer my comments on it instead.

If you have been reading MrHowTo, with the brass nuggets, he is about to launch his blog site. Maybe we all move over there. Mutiny. Mutiny. Sorry, I am crazed from being unintentionally censored. I say brass nuggets because he has been advertising on SoulCast. Other food for thought. Maybe it is a space issue. I have thought about deleting some of my older posts and see if that makes any difference. Wonder if we are alotted only so much space.
• silverwhisper said on Aug 05, 2006....
but that would require that you be opinionated. and obviously, you aren't that. :D ed
• ALIENated said on Aug 05, 2006....
Has anyone tried opening a new account to see if that works?

maybe this is the SoulCast team's way of letting us know that we are easily replaced by incomprehensible 11 year olds talking in fake gansta ebonics.....

I am going to piggy back on the post I created earlier on SoulCast_help. In fact, why don't you guys join me? I could have had three other long posts by now. Come on! Doc Z? ALIENated? Hunter? HELLO! Sil-ver!!
• Broncostar said on Aug 06, 2006....
Hey, friends. I'm joining your "can't post" grop as well; I live on the East caost and have tried, to no avail, to post for the last day or two. Let's all hope that come 12 AM EST, things will be better once again.

I've offered my theories in the two other posts on this subject, and of course MY theories are self-centered, not technical. CONSPIRACY!!!! (heh) Hunter, you know we caused this on that other post, especially me when I suggested we go on strike to show how de-googled everything would become - and I didn't even believe it! Any one of us is individually expendable to this system, I have no doubt. But you would think some recognition would be given to prolific and popular users like hunter and silver and creativewoman beyond just listing them as popular. Why not a % of revenue, since SoulCast's big marketing tool is "payment for blogging?" How about a bonus every month for one recognized special blogger? Good for them, good for us.

I think it has something to do with their server. I'm getting error messages whenever I try to post. The way to check it if it's alright is to click formatting options before writing out your posts. If it turns out an error message, then that means there's still an internal problem with the main servers of Soulcast. And that was what I pointed out in one of my post, if everybody who was logged in, submitted at least one blog, a day, think of the blog clog, it will literally put the servers to a halt. Silver is right, I tried it in Netscape, IE and Firefox and can keep getting the same error message when posting. Maybe they're trying to work on it, the bad part is a lot are reacting like they won't make it another day, if they don't get to post their new blogs. (Withdrawal syndrome?)
• TheNakedProfessor said on Aug 06, 2006....
Has anyone else noticed that silver's question about closing formatting posted 10 days ago was the last time SoulCast responded to a Help post? They've been abducted. Should we call the FBI?
• TheNakedProfessor said on Aug 06, 2006....
Maybe the SoulCast "team" is just one lonely nerd in a motel who went on two weeks' vacation to Disney World (which, I have pointed out, is more dangerous than skydiving) and left the motor running. We're HOME ALONE!
• Zayda said on Aug 06, 2006....
Hmmmm...no responses from soulcast help for 10 days? That's scary.
• Zayda said on Aug 06, 2006....
If the inability to post goes on much longer, I will probably create a second account. Then we will just have to let everyone know who was who.
• ALIENated said on Aug 07, 2006....
Next we will let one or two of them post and see how the others react to that. ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
• JadeLondon said on Aug 07, 2006....
Disney World, huh? What if the poor guy died on a roller coaster (I have heard numerous reports of deaths there recently, which I am assuming the Prof was referring(to). I have only two questions: What is going on at Disney World? The scariest ride I remember is Space Mountain. And was the nearly $70 ticket worth it?
• ALIENated said on Aug 07, 2006....
Not according to my child.
• JadeLondon said on Aug 07, 2006....
Yeah, well--I ain't loaded--so, I don't know if we'll be going there anyway ('specially w/all the kids dying). :(
