Does there seem to be something pointless, and even something lonely, about me going to work today? I'm really just doing it to pay my bills. And it's not like anything gets resolved. One case at a time gets resolved, but so what, there's always another waiting. It's a carousel of revolving chores that never end. Hamster on a wheel. And a lot of the poor shmucks on my job put in overtime on a regular basis, poor bastards. They don't get paid a dime for doing it.

I hear ya there loud and clear.  I ask myself that question a lot... my job is very repititious.  every night the same thing part after part....never ending.  Like you say hamsters on a wheel..yes.  And believe it or not we have people that work 7 days a week 12 hours a day! Are they nuts?  of course they get paid, but geez, get a life!!  Well anyway..... have a great day at work Lbno!

It turned out not what I expected. I had so many emails and phone calls to answer this morning, and I felt like a pingpong ball going from one to the next. I handled it all and gave clients the impression that I was friendly and helpful, not stressed and bouncing from one to the other. Then at lunchtime I fell asleep in my car.
