Today has been one of those days where I can't think of much to write about.  I've been busy, but nothing of real consequence has happened.

I've been working on my other blog. I wrote about my experience with home health nurses there today.  I've discovered that I need to go back and edit my first few posts.  I seem to have repeated the first paragraph twice on a few of them.  I'm not quite sure what I did but I'll fix it.

The online diabetes support group I joined is fun.  I go by The Sweet Diabetic there and they are already calling me SweetD and/or Honey Bee.  So, I guess I'm fitting in.  :-)  That's a nice feeling to be readily accepted.  I'm learning a lot there as well.  Someone gave me a lead on another diabetes forum that I will join to do a little more blog promotion as well.

This evening I colored my hair.  I went back to a shade of medium golden blond.  It's close to my original hair color.  I need a little help with the gray.  No way am I letting it creep in yet.  I know I will have my mother's beautiful silver hair one day, but it's far too soon for that now.  It turned out really shiny and soft.  So, I'm happy.

It seems my phone hardly ever rings unless I have my hands goopy or am in the shower.  This evening it rang on both counts.  That always leaves me shaking my head.  It's Murphy's Law at its finest.

Today it was in the 50's here and feeling like spring.  Tomorrow it will plummet into the 20's and blow around some snow.  At least what we had on the ground already had a little time to melt.  I must admit that I hate driving in the mud worse than the snow.  Neither is fun, but mud is just plain greasy when you start sliding.  You'll never get any traction if you sink.  Sometimes I feel like I'm lost in an episode of Green Acres.

That's about as exciting as my day went.  Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations is on in the background.  I'm sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying his narrative.

How was your day?

Well, I had an eventful day but everything turned out okay. I laughed, cried, and lived. Who can ask for much more than that?

CW:  First, {{{HUGS}}} and if you didn't get my message, thank you for the Avon!  That is the BEST stuff EVER!  I was curious if I could leave feedback for you somewhere.

Now, I want to tell you how much I LOVE blogs like this.  Just talking about your day.  It makes us all feel like we know each other and, if we spoke on the phone, that's what we would do...talk about our day!  I often find that I can pull things, or ideas, from the blogs like this and bring it to my own life...like starting another blog at some point.  I wouldn't have time for it now because I can hardly get here as much as I used to.

    Thanks, CW!

P.S.  Can you please add your business links to all your future posts so I can find them in an instant?  I like it when you do that!

I dunno, CDub, I didn't do that much.  I'm trying to get my sewing room cleaned out, so I'm generating a lot of trash.

That Anthony Bourdain.  He eats still-beating cobra hearts, CDub!  Blech...

Daily, it's so nice to see your smiling face at SC again!

    vacant,
I'm glad you are doing ok.  I was worried when I read your post earlier.

    Daily,
I'm glad you like the AVON.  I like the products too and that makes it easy to promote them.  :-)  There might be a place for feedback on my AVON website, I will have to look and then get back to you.  I can put my links up again.  I thought that maybe people were getting tired of all my self promotion.  :-)

This post was kind of a ramble, so I'm glad you liked it.  I don't lead a very exciting life sometimes.

    Mimi,
Isn't that the way it is?  You have to make a mess to straighten up a room.  I do that whenever I work in the closets.  Do you have a quilt project lined up?

Anthony Bourdain also ate a seal's eyeball on one of his episodes.  I would be serving up some barf with that.  :-D  I do love the guy though.

    LOL!  CDub, that's disgusting!

I have a quilt I need to make by the end of May, so I need to shovel out the sewing machine pretty soon.

well today is a brand new day, but yesterday was productive too. I was telling Mimi that I was doing an overhaul on my bedroom, only to find myself 5 hours later still in the kitchen. But the cupboards are all organized, the junk drawers now actually hold things of value and the floors are beautiful!
Maybe today the bedroom will get shiny...unless I get detoured by...the bathroom! Believe it or not, I love to do this. It is pure nesting...my husband thinks I am a nut, but I make him walk around and admire my work when he gets home!!
    Have a great day today!!
ps I would like the uplink to avon on your blog too! thanks!! M

My day yesterday was jammed pack. My Mondays always are.

I got up with the chickens because of the hubby's new job and commute. After I saw him off, I got the little guy up, pulled out his clothes for him to get dressed and made him breakfast.

While the little man was eating breakfast, I showered and got ready for work. I grabbed an English muffin and a cup of coffee and then answered email and took a quick peek at SC before heading out the door to take my son to school. I grumbled a bit because I had to scrape the windshield which took longer than I anticipated.

After dropping the little man off at school, I did the 40 minute commute to work, popped into my office, printed off some papers, ran upstairs to photocopy them, and then went to teach two classes, which lasted until mid-afternoon. I grabbed a quick lunch after my last class and before my office hours.

During lunch, I answered email, had a quick IM conversation with the hubby about work and dinner plans, and took a peek at SC since I was on my lunch break. Then, I had a meeting, had office hours, headed home, picked up the little guy from daycare, sat him down at the table with a snack, answered questions he had while working on his homework, and worked on making dinner and putting up the dishes that were in the dish drainer while he was working on homework.

Today is a non-teaching day, so I am cleaning off my home office desk and also grading papers and answering email from students.

And I love your ramble posts CW. :)

    Mimi,
I hope you'll post a picture of your finished quilt.  You have a real talent there.  :-)

    Mamie,
I'm not a real nester.  I would like to fly the coup!  lol  I do try to destroy the clutter now and again.  My house is small so it builds up fast.  I did my bathroom last week and updated the area rugs in my kitchen.

I'll bet your house looks fabulous.  :-)

    Zayda,
My goodness, you are a busy one!  You are a very "together" person.  I admire that in you.

Thanks for your kind words about my ramble posts.  :-)

LOL. CW, I don't really think I am all that together. My desk at home is a giant explosion of papers, pens, my wallet, and cell phone right now, among other things. And my dining room table is covered with mail and newspapers right now--I'm sorting. UGH.

Some days the little things you have to do for a household just seem never ending!
  • CreativeWoman said on Jan 29, 2008....
    Zayda,
I think our desks and tables probably resemble one another today.  I've been paying bills this morning and have things strung out working on the farm books.  :-)

Busy days all round it seems.

I was up at 5:45 & made tea and began the packed lunches. 6:15 shower for me then bathroom for the kids. Breakfast at 6:45. Then reading while I sorted out the dishes, finished lunch and gathered up our things. Oh and I put in a load of washing too. Dropped off 1st child at 7:30 with her minder, dropped off child 2 with hers a little later. Was at work for 8:00 and my class arrived at 8:55.  From then on in it was non-stop till I crawled into bed at 10pm. Spent a while talking online before saying my goodnights. Sadly I was rudely awakened at 1:30, 2:45 & 4:30 by my feline being ill so I didn't get much sleep before the alarm went off for the start of another day.

my day was really good. that new program that i wrote is running along swimmingly. all the higher ups came over and looked at it and were duely impressed. this program has far reaching capabilities to do search tasks on all the computers on our network and record the data in any file format that they want. right now i'm using excel. so i'll automate these tasks so much that they won't need IT guys anymore, my programs will run the whole system :-)

I told you about my day in my other comment but I was just watching Murphy's law. I think you have had a busy day. You are really doing much and it is great. Feeling accepted is very good for us.

    trav,
