Native American mythology has a very rich cultural history of its own. We oftentimes and for the most part tell and re-tell the tales, because in doing so, many things are learned. This is how most tribes kept their culture alive.  It was passed down from one generation to another.  It is not just a collection of stories and tales, but each one had significant meaning to our beliefs, way of life, andhistory. Also, as the legends are told, new ones sprout up, each reflecting our beautiful culture, that we treasure so much.  We are the indigenous peoples of North America, and I am proud to be one of them.

Runningbear, I so enjoy your posts about your culture and heritage. You are rekindling a desire to learn more about our indigenous people. Although I am not a Native North American I do have some connections. Sort of a family birth by in-lawism or something like that...hmmm....a shirt-tail relative?

I have some in me, but I have never thought to explore that heritage much.  Think I might  though.

botoni -    Thank you. I wouldn't have thought to do any posting about it,but I have had some here at soulcast ask me.

Candylane, I think there are a lot more people that have roots that they don't know about.

Anything I post will be just to help educate and point you in the direction to obtaining that education, offering links to websites, etc.  The web does a great job sharing information on a wide range of Native American Culture.
