Lola smoked oh how she smoked. She bickered. She swore. She did what men did in that time but she was not a women’s liberal. Not in that way.
She believed in equality of mankind. She has been photographed with a cigarette in her hand. She has been photographed with a chief on a red Indian nation as they were called then. There a few photographs but not from her young days. She was however painted. The king of Bavaria put her in his collection of beautiful women. He hired a painter to paint her picture.
She suffered because of her smoking. But at the time she did not know that smoking was dangerous.
She died in New York in 1861. She was not quite 40 but was said to be 42.
Lola who had always said she was younger than she was. That is a bit ironic.
Lola had parties in Munch were she lived and her court of students were with her.
She lived high and she lived well. The king Ludvig who people said was her lover, but she said that he was her protector, bought her a house there.
She staid at the finest hotels and got what she wanted. At this time of her life she was selfish and self-centred but charming and wonderful too.
She had two wonderful dogs. She improved her self and hired dancing teachers. As a matter of fact she was improving her self her whole life.
Once she got a harp and started learning how to play it. She had a piano when ever she could and she also would draw her self from company and read She read all her life and she wrote. There are letters that she wrote and her self biography. Lectures and more.
What Lola wants Lola gets that is said about her.
Yes she started her career in England but was found out. Then she went to Germany and made it good there for a while. When one starts to lie it is difficult to turn back.
More later.
