In light of the most recent rounds of Hollywood deaths I pose this question to you: Do you consider fame a trapping? Do think the surrealness of it all sets those that encounter it up to fall? Why do you think our voyeristic society craves it(fame) so?(Reality T.v. for instance) And do you consider these people famous(Reality t.v.) on the same terms as legitimate actors? Personally I don't. I think they are some idiot that exposed their life for 15minutes of attention(Hint: To Trish of the Bachelor and Bachelorette D listing shame).

reality TV is something of a misnomer, if you ask me, and no, i don't consider reality TV people legitimate celebrities in the way i might an actor or musician. but i'm having a hard time explaining the difference. i'll think about it some more and return.

Yes, I consider fame a trap.  I always have.  When I was a teen I gave up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity because of it.  I have never wanted to fall into that trap of fame.  It's also the thing that keeps me from writing the books I know I could write.  Fame would corrupt me - I just know it.  I'm too weak in some areas and could not handle the power it would give me wisely.

i think fame is a trap for those that rely on it in order to feel worthy. those that have low self esteem may get caught up in it. i don't believe anybody is set up to fail. in hollywood, each individual is responsible for his/her reputation and career and many celebrities are able to lead private lives away from cameras. to each his own really.

HH:  Fame is a trap, in so many ways!
I like faux "reality" TV, but honestly, I forget the people the minute the show ends.  I do NOT consider any contestant on these shows "famous" at all.  Maybe while they're show is on the air, sure.  After that, who cares.

Since the WGA strike is still in full force, we'll be seeing a LOT more reality tv until the dispute is settled.  Like I said, I like my "faux reality" but I do find myself skipping some of the new shows.

Man, I hope this made sense and I understood the post correctly.  My apologies if I didn't...I took my meds. so I'm easy to confuse right now, lol!
