God requires? We never seem to quite fully understand that side of God in our times. We never seem to feel that when God is dishonoured, we must defend him. We must stand up to sin in all its forms. We Christians allow God to be too easily insulted. We do not seem to feel it when our God is maligned. We do not stand up when our own people bring God in to disrepute. If we did, we might be better respected.
Matthew 5:14-16.
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven
The opposite is true. If we do not let our light shine before men, our Father will not be praised.
We must remember our first love and strive to act accordingly. It is from the inside that our actions start. And if we are true to our sovereign God, who rules over us, we can let our light and love shine regardless of circumstance, regardless even of what God appears to be allowing, and like Paul find that secret that allows us to be at peace in all circumstances.
