wombat's tags:
I first thought about writing to SoulCast Help for this, but figured it was just a dumb idea that can't be done.  So I decided instead to write a post about it and see where it lands just for the heck of it.

When I delete my cookies from my clogged up computer, I start with the first one, then use the control/shift keys together to scoop up the line, then go down the edge of the page to grab the last one on each line.  This way, I can delete tons of cookies all at once.

You have to be careful not to hit the "shortcut to..." option after using the right mouse click, though--or else you will end up with double the cookies.

My thinking was that, wouldn't it be nice to be able to delete your messages from your backed up pages all at once using the control/shift keys the same way?  Just hit delete on one message, hold the two keys down, and zip along deleting any and all messages you desire--all in one whack?

I have pages of old messages, and while there are many I would like to keep, there are plenty others that have served their purpose.  I don't even remember what some of them were about.

But I am lazy as always, and can't seem to make myself spend time deleting them.  And now I already see one reason this would not work for me---I would have to "look one more time" just to make sure I wasn't about to delete one I had planned to keep.

Maybe I could make a list of titles on paper first, then zip through them quickly?

Oh, well.  It was a thought.  I am glad I didn't ask for help from SC.  They already know I am a doofus.  Why validate their opinion?

Anyone else have multiple pages of Private Messages they are too busy, or like me--too lazy--to delete one at a time?

Sorry. I'm sure you know  what I was referring to, even if my writing is not always clear.  Just in case, I will add an explanation about cookies, if that happens to be what you mean?

When you turn on your computer, and you are on your background page, right click on start, choose explore, then on the left, choose "cookies"--takes you to the page of little icons of where you have made recent searches etc..  I usually forget for long periods of time, and end up having to delete about 100 of them at once.  I use the short-cut method I described to clean up my desktop from clutter.

When you go back, though, you have to sign back in, sign back in to your mail, and back into SC.  At least I do on/from my Yahoo home page.  (also local weather and horoscope)

If this is not the question you had, if you had one, stop back by and ask.  Sometimes not even I know what I am talking about though, ha......

Ok--I'll take the talking dancing man....ha....

I actually spent some time yesterday deleting PM's. I had 60 pages of messages! And I thought to myself that it would be awesome if we could mass delete, like I can with my email. I gave up after deleting twenty pages, because I was bored out of my mind. So I think your idea is a great one!

evil twin:  Thank you.  I was wondering if I had such a silly notion that it didn't make sense, mostly because I didn't explain it too well. And thank goodness I only have about half of that many to delete.....

It wasn't a silly notion at all. In my email, you have the option of deleting an entire page of messages at once. It's much easier than deleting messages one by one. Especially if you have 60 pages of them!

evil twin:  I don't get enough email to worry with that, just cookies. I like to look up alot of stuff.    But I may need it if I don't go back and tell Blingo and PCH to go away.   (and Body & Bath)

yes, I think we sould ask SC big boss for such a thing as mass delete for our PMs are you hearing this Mr. big boss??  as for my cookies, I can't find em anyway.
  • wombat said on Jan 25, 2008....
quietone:  I should have mentioned that you also wished for a quick way to delete PM messages, but I hesitate at mentioning other people on posts.  Can't find your cookies?  Just ask wombie, the cookie monster....ha....
  • quietone said on Jan 26, 2008....
wombie ~ I understand as of late about the hesitation, but you may mention me any time, as I know it is always in good faith.  (or I hope) LOL
  • wombat said on Jan 26, 2008....
quietone:  I just want to be cautious and not have you or anyone come back with, "I told her that in confidence."  I only say nice, or sometimes funny, things about you--but never anything bad!
