i noticed something here at soulcast.

if you read a post and it strikes an ok chord in you, but you can't bring yourself to really think hard and say exactly why it's ok, yet you feel you need to say something anyway, there are thousand ways to say, basically, "i wuz here, and you're ok."

one of the more popular ones is to say, "cool post." or "nice post." or "you crack me up." or "too funny."

well, i'm doing it the other way around this time.

right this very minute i can't really think hard about anything, yet i feel i need to say something anyway. there are thousand ways to say, "i wuz here, and i'm ok."

so that's what i'm saying. i wuz here, and i'm ok.

don't you dare post a comment along the lines of "cool post" or "nice post" or "you crack me up" or "too funny," because this one definitely ain't, babe.

but, if you like, you can post a comment along the lines of "this is an uncool post," because it is.

and it's gonna stay this way until hell freezes over. then maybe it will become a cool post.

(heyyyy, i saw it freeze over a while ago. how do i know? because i've just been there, silly.... hahaha.)

so there. i wuz there, then i wuz here, but don't worry, i'm ok now.

i may be back later. or sooner. definitely sooner. maybe. definitely maybe.

all my bolts and marbles were let loose many years ago, you know that. lol.

of course i'm ok, my friend.

    if i wuz un-ok, i'd be un-here un-sipping my morning cup o'tea with an un-smile...

thank you so much for saying this is a weird post. i need that kind of reassurance right now.... ;-)

  • polarheart said on Jan 25, 2008....

Good, as long as you are OK and just having a bit of fun, then I know I can leave you alone to play nicely.  You're having your morning tea and I am off to bed now! LOL

  • moonriver said on Jan 25, 2008....
a couple corrections, my friend, at the risk of my being seen as overly fastidious. i'm ok, but it aint fun to play alone hahaha. and it's morning tea and biscuits, actually... :-)

be off to bed now, pretty lady, and make sure you and mr polar have a nice vacation, you hear?

ed -- ah, but you do have a vast repertoire of "i wuz here, you're ok" lines, my friend. and i mean that as a compliment. i know that part of your repertoire is simply not to comment.

but believe me, your responses are always in context, written with just the right personal touch, and often right smack on the center dot. like, you just trout-smacked me, and it felt just right, ya know, no need for words... ;-)

oh, and before i forget, this blog was partly inspired by your own temp-placeholder blog on plato. the difference being, you posted it in order not to forget, while i posted mine in order to forget...lol.

zayda -- you liked it? that means you must be either a certified weirdo like me, or a cool and nerdy mom who isn't frazzled by uncool posts... ;-) merci, madame.

infernal -- no, my friend, you weren't here, you didn't post a smiley, and that ((hug)) only exists in my feverish mind... you're merely one of the quirkiest spazies i've ever read online, and my writing this reply to your hypothetical comment only proves my incorrigible uncoolness .... :-)

  • moonriver said on Jan 25, 2008....
wombat -- omg i can't believe you said it. "such an uncool post... such an uncool post... " sorry, i have to let that sink in and wallow in my mind for a while. oh thank you thank you for that uplifting comment. you just got yourself a loyal friend with a lifetime warranty... :-)

psst, can i still join you in picker's exclusive club of big-time meanies? LOL.

papeeeeerrrrrrr mein deutscher-filippinischer freund, ich bin glad schoen du bist hier. sorry, forgot what "glad" was in german ... :-) wie geht es ihnen? apparition or not, un-cool or not, i hope you're ok and doing fine.

waking -- ah, i seen you rootin' around among my old uncool blogs, pretty lady. i'll be ready with my uncool responses later today, just you wait.

and don't you realize that hereabouts, bamboo is used to make snorkel tubes and even goggles? used those myself to catch some midnight river eel. my harpoon was crafted from the ribbing of an old umbrella, would you believe that???

such an uncool fishing gear we use here...:-)

lucy -- hmm, another pretty lady bites the dust. i won't frown on your ciggie back-sliding ways. promise. i'll merely post an uncool blank comment line to let you know i wuz there too, and i know how it feels.

i think i stopped smoking a million times until, finally, i stopped attempting to stop... then one totally insignificant monday, lying on my hospital bed, i simply said, stop. and i stopped. cold turkey. cool turkey. cool post you wrote on that one... :-)

rupert -- sir, i like it that you're here. i'd even handcuff you to my google ads bar... if you like. but what i'd really like to hear you say, in all honesty, is that i'm an uncool weirdo with an absolutely incoherent blog. say it please. pretty please... lol.

  • moonriver said on Jan 25, 2008....
my future goddess -- since prehistoric times, there were approximately 120 cosmically recorded events that triggered hell to go into deep freeze. the eagles back on tour was the 117th, if i'm not mistaken.

i was so lucky to witness this 120th hell-freeze event. it means so much to me personally. i'll blog about it later. maybe. definitely maybe.

hey, lady, your name is so uncool, it's actually hot to touch. oooohhh, i like that... ;-)

((handcuffs rupe to the nearest google ads bar...)) and before i hale you to court to file the appropriate charges for your immeasurable hatred of uncouth mistruths... can i buy you drink, sir? .... ;-)

vacantmind -- atta girl... :-) but i sense that you're still hedging. "got a little bored...?" aw, come on, this post is a humongous bore, and you know it. come on, say it. no bolt from olympus will strike you down.... :-)

  • FutureGoddess said on Jan 25, 2008....

Thanks Moonie - while I wasn't here to tell you this, I laughed my butt off at your response - and according to hells-history.com, you're correct about the number of recorded events, but they think there were a number of close calls which could have been recorded as well but weren't.

Rupert - if you need an attorney, I can reccomed a couple of really good lawyers who specialize in uncouth mistruths - just make sure that if you accept Moon's drink that you negotiate a settlement at the bar....

    my future goddess -- you're kidding! there isn't really a www.hells-history.com, is there? (i checked...lol)

and, to tell you the truth, i was also joking when i said there are around 120 recorded cosmic events that triggered hell freeze-ups. there's none, except for apocryphal evidence that doesn't hold well to chromatic analysis. the eagles concert simply relied on untested diachromatic techniques... :-)

in fact, it has been proven beyond reasonable doubt by an engineering student, invoking the fundamental laws of physics, that hell will never freeze over. if you're an uncool weirdo like me, you'll like this one.

waking -- now that you mention it, my friend, i do notice some irksome buzzing in my ears when i'm in werewolf mode. and sometimes i find myself hard of hearing, especially after a week of howling and growling. lol.

but, maybe the problem comes from my diet of baby panda bears, who in turn subsist on a diet of bamboo shoots. and sometimes when times are really hard, i do survive on finely chopped bamboo shoots, salted, leached, and cooked with coconut milk for a couple of hours. add some young fern tops and smoked eel... mmmmmmmm.... yummy. didn't know it has a side-effect on my hearing.

quietone -- ((pouts)) i waited up all night for your return, my friend. i was really excited. i thought you'd be back to tell me this post stinks to high heavens... ;-)

cw -- ((rushes to the door and locks it)) whoa, wait a minute, lady. no one who admits guilt gets out of my blog that easily. especially an exasperatingly nice, beautiful and creative woman like you... ;-)

  • moonriver said on Jan 26, 2008....
rolling -- oh no no no, you won't pull that trick on me, my friend. i saw you and destiny develop that cool and funny script to fluster uncool bloggers like me... ;-)

runningbear -- well, to be honest, a while back while hiking on my way here, there was this peyote garden... and one thing led to another...lol.

rupe my friend -- we have a deal. i'll make that 4 fingers if you give the names and contact info of the two lawyers. are they of the "insist on uncouth mistruths" variety? or of the "pursue couth truths" persuasion?

anyway, the district attorney advises me to drop all cases on cognizance.... whatever that means...lol. i'll drink to that... :-)

kelly -- i am truly amazed at you, dude. you have just showed your startling powers of insight into the fundamental human condition. and i agree.

like bush and the neo-cons, i'd like to develop a full-spectrum response capability too. only mine is a verbal arsenal for peace and understanding among bloggers. and with the exception of the word "cool," which i hate being applied to me. LOL.

trav -- of course you wuz here. then you were gone. then you wuz here again. then you were gone again. make up your mind, dude... no, let me make the decision for you. ((handcuffs trav together with rupert)). have a stiff drink. i'm sure you'll be here for quite a while. LOL.

  • rupert7 said on Jan 26, 2008....
Mr Moon...you agreed to the deal and I bid you stick to it Sir. I will give you 2 reasons! Firstly 4 fingers of Jack Daniels would intoxicate me,I do believe! Being a law abiding citizen (most of the time!) I could not  contemplate bicycling my way out of your blog under the influence! No Sir indeed no!! And secondly,I do not have the names you require! FutureGoddess failed to provide the names, besides I suspect them to be undesirable, nefarious creatures anyway! lol

anyways. i totally agree with you about everyone's freedom to post. especially the freedom of uncool weirdos like me to post mind-bogglingly pointless and boring blogs like this.

you have to understand, dude. i'm trying to grow up. i really am. but meanwhile, i need time and space to play around.

sometimes i write to disparage, yes, but again at other times i write to find anchorage, and still at other times to wear camouflage, or encourage brigandage, or promote garbage and carnage, chop up some cartilage, stare at brazen cleavage, expand my concubinage...

ya know the rule hottie dude... diffrent strokes for diffrent fokes... LOL. *wink*

ok then. 2 fingers it is. here's to our emerging partnership based on couth truths. (((toast))) the two lawyers of my future goddess can find other uncouth mistruth cases... plenty of that in the world at large... LOL.

Rupert and Moon:   Sorry about the delay for providing those names, but unfortunately, I was asleep when you two were writing back and forth.... Ehhh, Lawyers suck anyway (I should know, I am one of the smartest ones out there - I don't actually practice law anymore.) They weren't going to be able to help the two of you out - they just would have charged you for the paperclips they used, the number of pages they photocopied, the seconds they spent on the phone, etc.  However, I am very happy that the two of you worked it out.  Although the hangovers must have been a bit "hellish" LOLOL Settlement is much preferable to law suits anyway.. Besides, law suits are boring - dark blue/grey pinstripes, white shirts, ugly ties.....

Moon - That essay was hysterical - I had read it before but had forgotten it a long time ago.  Reminds me of a old story which said:  During the final exam of a philosophy class, the professor wrote on the board the sole question which summed up the entire years' class:  WHY?

Students began writing their answers furiously, page after page of reasons why.... the only student who got an A was the one who answered "Why Not."

my future goddess -- you're a lawyer?? wow.... impressive. did you know that my clan is also a clan of lawyers? one nearly got to be appointed to his country's supreme court. but old age got to him first haha.

LOL about boring law suits and overpriced paperclips. one reason why i didn't think of becoming a lawyer... although i did work for a time in a law office.

btw, i visited www.hell2u.com. my kind of town, i think. wanna read some lawyer jokes? and can i get the contact info for Dewey Cheatem and Howe? i think i got a couple potential clients for them hahaha.

quietone -- shuussshhhh! i hope nobody noticed what you just said...LOLOLOL. quiet, little one! or else people will start talking hahaha. thank you for saying that my blog sucks. downright candor... that's what i like in you, my friend... :-)

twyla -- "interesting"????? sorry, ma'am, but this is a very unacceptable level of word usage. may i suggest "horrible" instead? tell me you want to transmogrify my horrible blogs to oblivion, i'd like that. you remember the kid in the calvin and hobbes comic strip? i'm calvin. LOL.

cw -- ((checking if lock is still secure)) errr, you wanna out now, m'lady? i think i've detained you enough these past days hahaha.

missmimi -- although i don't like being called "cool," and i doubly dislike being called "pretty cool," i will take that as a heart-fluttering compliment, coming from you.

    BUT...

ecco fatto. e' possibile mandarlo via aerea? ;-)

grazie, signorina e si diverta e buona settimana!

lola -- good for you... :-) i also hate replying to soooo many comments, and i don't even know why i'm doing it right now...LOL.

skald -- i know that, my friend. i may be the uncoolest blogger hereabouts, but your comments on my blog always puts a big smile to my face... :-)

  • moonriver said on Jan 29, 2008....
daily -- "interesting..." let's see... i might have to blacklist this one too, right below "cool" and "pretty cool" hahaha. thanks for the comment, my friend... :-)

lucy -- "totally and immeasurably interesting..." let's see... i just blacklisted "interesting"... lady, you are giving me one totally and immeasurably gigantic migraine on how i should reply back. hahaha

rolling -- sir, what you said -- whatever it meant -- doubled my migraine just now. and for that, i am going to handcuff you to.... lucytorial! (not that i know you'll love me for it hahaha)

  • moonriver said on Jan 29, 2008....
queenie -- you can smack me with every fish listed in an icthyology text, my friend. but on one condition. i get to use the black and decker on you LOLOL.

destiny -- ah, here you are. i wuz meaning to handcuff you to trav and rupert, and see how an interesting threesome turns out. but, on second thought, i will hereby handcuff you to queenie. and use the black and decker on the both of you in one fell swoop LOLOL.

runningbear -- howdy my friend. man of few words. i like that... :-)

vacantmind -- oh no no you don't evade the wrathful glare of zeus that easily.

(( throws a lightning bolt at vacant, misses, and hits lucy and rupert instead. the combination of alcohol and 10 million volts of static juice turns the two of them into a cloud of vodka floating somewhere over alice springs ))

    Moon~ Re: interesting...
You have to understand the context in which I used that word.  My husband had tubes exiting every orifice of his body after a triple heart by-pass.  The doctor showed me how the bowel emptied via tube into a bag.  I put my glasses on to take a look, and said, "Hmm...interesting...".
I read your post and said, "Hmm...interesting...".
    See?  I followed the rules.

Wow, Moon, this incomprehensible drivel, this bordering on coma-inducing un-post into which you obviously put no thought what-so-ever, has 100 comments!  Mind boggling!

(That took me 5 minutes to think up, not including the 30 seconds it took to look up the correct spelling of "incomprehensible".   How was that?)

oh busy one -- i tried to translate it. and the nearest i could come up is that, i'm cool. you are wrong on that count, lady. your sanskrit script gave me a 2-day-long migraine. i thought you might like to know... :-)

twyla -- ohh, now i get it. (((knowing nod..))) your first comment about "interesting" is ok, i guess. but your second comment is the best i've read so far on this blog.

that my un-coolness has produced 100 comments -- yours being the 100th ((pins ribbon on twyla)) -- only goes to show that lunacy is highly contagious. i suggest you go see a shrink right after reading this exchange between the two of us... *wink*

forever young -- that's actually my underlying point.

i could actually limit my comment to a cryptic "lol" followed by an iconic wink, and make a blogger happy without needing to have said anything substantial.

in a certain sense, we're all exchanging the equivalent of handshakes and smiles and friendly taps and hugs. including trout-smacks, kowtows, winks and the like.

soulcast is a notorious trafficker in happy endorphines... :-)

wild-ting -- to tell you the truth, i wuz thirsty for happy endorphines that day. now i'm drunk, thanks to people like you...lol.

  • moonriver said on Feb 02, 2008....
rolling -- thanks for the suggested mathematical formula, my friend. is it a proven theorem? or just a provable conjecture? but i agree... we all need to communicate and express ourselves, and we all need the online equivalent of *winks* and *smiles* and ((hugs))

Anyway....it's true...lunacy is highly contagious...pair that with a 3/4 bottle of strong red wine from Spain and you have the recipe for a perfect evening...:-)

muun:  I was wondering where you were.  I guess you've been around more than I have lately...  = )

busy:  Haha... I can read enough Thai to understand that you are a woman! (ฉัน...คะ).  Thanks!  That was fun.
  • moonriver said on Feb 03, 2008....
ginger -- i would love any 3rd, 4th, 5th, nth comment from you, anytime, lady. 3/4 wine... let me see... is that 3/4 empty? or 3/4 full? or is that precisely the subject of a philosophical discussion while emptying the bottle? lol

kruu -- i wuz always here. wuz you here too? lol.
  • gingersoul said on Feb 03, 2008....

Moon....i am so bad with numbers.......all those fractions make my little head spin...lol.....

But i could see the decreasing level of the wine very well... ..so let's see....the bottle was 3/4 empty at the end of the evening, i remember this clearly...and the topic of the conversation shifted pretty soon from philosophical to erogenous....lol.........

Something i can't quite disclose here though....i know you will understand...:-).

i hope you were playing a bach cello solo by pablo casals during the goings-on. i heard somebody say when a cello hits a very low note, the vibes are so nearly sub-sonic it can trigger a powerful mind orgasm... :-)

yup i understand your delicate situation. but damn, lady, i sure would have liked to have been your date that evening... i would have brought with me another bottle of red wine, for whatever purpose it might serve... *wink*

busy:  Really?  I've never heard of that... does it mean that they're girly boys?  Although, in the village I was in, most of the guys pronounced "krap" in a way that made it sound like "ka."  But I really never heard about "chan" being used that way.
  • busybusybusy said on Feb 06, 2008....
dear big teach: yeah, mostly teenagers and popstars. the manly men will def. use ผม...but even they will often use คะ when they're talking to, like, their daughters, or similar etc. sort of like a parenting mechanism? ....so if moon was a girl, i could definitely be a man.
    or a teenage popstar.

kruu and busy -- i'm just sitting in a corner here, listening to two fine teachers discuss the finer points of thai gender terms. i'd be willing to change into a girl anytime, in the interest of uncovering these secret twists of the thai tongue... ;-)

I've heard about the farm....they have all sorts of animals there and they grow things too.....they plant things too....I have dreams about the farm. City life makes you dream about buying the farm, why just the other day I crossed the road during heavy traffic and almost bought the farm....ahhh well maybe that's another story...never mind.......     :^)
