wombie ~ when enlarged it almost "looks like" it got caught in the headlights so to speak doesn't it? I also see that the govt. waved off all the UFO sightings in texas as stelth planes or something...right. I used to love watching the X-files. David Decovney wasn't bad to watch either... hehe -

You're right, it does...like the paparazzi is chasing it down on a bad hair day....ha. I always suspect that the government hides certain things like this, and it reminds me of when I was about 25 or so, and was out on a date. We saw a huge "moon" hanging over the town and rushed back to his place to listen to the news. The next day they said it was a weather balloon. Right! It was gigantic and too close to be the moon--and didn't resemble any kind of weather balloon at all. -

I also saw some suspicious things on the night of an eclipse--the one they called the "pink moon." I was looking through binoculars and saw four or five triangular shaped lights in red, green and white off to the side of the moon during the eclipse. I couldn't see them without the binoculars. I watched them for awhile, then they started drifting off--but not until I had seen like little "pops" of light flashing like they were firing ammo or something. I just sat down on the ground and said to myself, "Aha! I caught you!" It could have been closer than it looked and was something military, but I'll never know. -

Maybe it is an extraterrestrial visitor to Mars. That seems to be the most likely explanation to me. I know there are extraterrestrial visitors to Earth, so why can't there be one on Mars? I saw them in the movie Men In Black. -

According to all the scientists its stone or rock. But since then it has been secretly remove for further studies and experiments. I have friends in high places who have said that it is actually a very intricate sculpture, which means that there is intelligent life on Mars!!LOL -

polar ~ It does look like a sculpture too.. maybe someone/thing else dropped it off there. but more than likely its just a rock..I don't want to believe that though.
secret ~ you are probably right also, about the rock. There has to be life out there somewhere, why would we earthling be the "only ones" in the universe?

Some good reasons why there wouldn't be life (at least higher organisms) on Mars:1. It's frickin' cold there. Air temperature rarely gets above freezing with night time temps going down to around -100F.2. There's no water that we know of.3. No oxygen to speak of.It's a fairly hostile place. -

runningbear ~ oh, but there is one way to find out for sure... if there was a way to take the same exact photo in the same place...see if it is still there wouldn't you think?
rollingC ~ It would be cool if polar was right and it was a sculpture some other entity had left behind..like we did with our flag! ha! always fun to have a mistery.

Underground life on Mars would be a fascinating find. Heck, ANY life on Mars--even bacteria--would be an earth shaking find.As to other life out there, it seems statistically impossible that it doesn't exist somewhere. The problem is distance and time. We may never know. Extra-solar planets are being discovered at a rate of about 1 per month as I recall. The more planets we discover out there and the better our technology becomes we may one day see some kind of evidence for life elsewhere. -

The UFO thing....I once saw a documentary about pilots and other "reputable" people who claimed to have seen them. One officer of some some sort who dropped his head and murmered, "It's all us...It's all us....My take on it was a wild idea. That in the distant future, we had mastered space travel with our UFO-like crafts. (My screen keeps freezing up here) Anyway, what a wild idea it would be if it really was all us, just making those trips right back here from the future? -

Sure, why not? Afterall, when you "look out into deep space" you see it as it was millions of years ago, or so the scientists say....so why not see us looking back from there the same way? A little off track here, but I am typing fast and thinking faster--my screen keeps freezing up still!If you were in the future and traveled out to places like we are trying to do, then you could conceivably zip on back here for a quick look at the past...ha.... something like that.. Gotta go, this freezing up is driving me nuts!
