granted, every superbowl is marked by increasingly more overwrought hype, and yes, it's been that way for years. i know.

but i'm already sick of it. and my team's in it, for pity's sake!

am i all alone on this?

I honestly haven't paid much attention to it.  I know it's a big deal to a lot of people though.

No, you're not alone, ed. It seems to get worse by bigger leaps and bounds each time. :-p

I try to avoid it as much as possible!  I hear it at work way too much with all the pools they have going...I don't need to see it on tv, I get play by play at work! LOL but I would rather watch the superbowl then listen to any more squabbling with the election candidates..

Honestly, I haven't paid any attention to it. Is there hype already? I haven't had the television on for a couple of days, so maybe that's part of why I haven't even noticed.

I haven't paid attention to it, either.  I don't watch a ton of TV, I get most of my news online, and our regional paper hasn't covered the Super Bowl much.  Yet.

Super Bowl hype? Doesn't exist here if the Eagles aren't in it. There's no cable in the house, so no ESPN.

That said, a riddle for you:
What's the difference between Tom Petty and the Philadelphia Eagles?

Tom Petty's playing in the Super Bowl. Ha ha. Ha.

My team lost, which is always a good way to get over the hype. ;) after a sad overtime loss you don't want to remember that they are still even having a superbowl. at least it's always a good excuse to pig out, have a bloody mary, and see new commercials. bright side anyone?

WH: hm...somehow, i'm not so sure...

    CW: o, i wouldn't have expected you to. :D

infernal: OK, i was starting to wonder if it was just me... :D

quietone: heh...politics or football...that could make for a very funny poll! :D

super z: ah, not having the TV on must be the key! :D

eilan: i'm sure your paper kick off in earnest with the sunday sports page. :>

harried: hey, what's this about mcnabb whining that eric lurie should upgrade the offense? did he suddenly get stupid?

nojunkintrunk: hi there, welcome to my blog! ah, a green bay fan, huh? my sympathies--i was shocked at how ineffective ryan grant proved. usually, when you put a game in brett's hands, he can get you where you wanna go!

    Ed -

You know what a Giants fan I am, but I, too, am getting a bit naseaus over the hype.

During the game on Sunday, they were "plugging" the SuperBowl broadcast, and much like Christmas Carols beginning before halloween on the radio, the SB broadcast day begins at Noon!  NOON!  Do I really need to

Thirty years ago, I played football (soccer) against an old ex-pro. He'd been run-of-the-mill as a player, faded into obscurity, but against us he was like Maradona. This piece is in his honour. Nice one, Archie!...
