Do You Fit The Profile?

In the pendulum swing of things, I no longer feel any truth in the words of my profile. I am thinking I will change it.

Do you feel your words still apply? Do you fit the profile?

    Crybaby: Unfortunately, there is no way to alter your username. You could create a new account, but there are a number of cons to that solution. Maybe you could introduce a nickname for yourself.

    Mine would still hold true, except for the very last part...I quit my job!  (am working on my writing off and on, but no where near as much as I should while I have this time to do it)  I don't know what I would change my bio to, though, so guess I will leave it alone.

    I've changed mine several times already. I don't really use it to say anything about myself though. Not seriously. I use it to say something amusing. Hopefully it shows I have a sense of humor.

    I can't remember how many times I've changed mine, I never really stick with one profile because I'm not really just one type of person, or in one type of situation... so it figures to up date everytime things change for me.

    hi jade, hope i'm not late for this audition... oh.... this isn't an audition for john barrymore's character? .... there's gonna be no remake of "the great profile"...? awww thats a cryin shame.... LOL.

    oh. you mean my soulcast profile.

    i put in my original profile the same day i joined sc. not word-for-word exact, but it went something like this: "asian fire monkey, strong like a bull, database grunt. here to self-reflect, explore ideas, make people smile."

    after maybe a month's worth of blogging here, i felt my profile was too wordy and stage-conscious. so i deleted "strong like a bull, database grunt," not because they don't describe the real me (they do), but because they don't capture the essential me. "asian fire monkey" is enough, actually.

    short answer: yes, my profile fits me like a comfy pair of size 12 doc martens hiking shoes... :-)

    jade -- really? thank you, m'lady. to be honest, i never thought of it that way. i kept imagining that new bloggers, upon reading my profile, would conjure in their minds the image of a nosy lab monkey puttering with the keyboard while being tested for possible esp and rudimentary language capabilities... :-)

    but now that you describe my profile in this way, i'm glad i stuck with it for more than a year up to now. i think i'll keep it as is for another year... until this monkey finds a better way to escape the tedium of daily lab work. LOL.

    oh, btw, i happen to like your profile as it is, too. i love the subtle colors of jade stone.

    Hot: I tend to overthink everything. I can see things from so many angles sometimes that it is difficult to make a decision. It is only once I am stuck that I give in to impulse. I must make a choice, so at that point, I will go with my gut impulse. Perhaps I am confusing impulse with intuition, however. See, there I go, overthinking again!

    I could do with a little more impulse in my life, trust me. :)

    Moon: I think you should keep it--but, of course, only if you wish. If I have helped you to see your words in a more positive light, then I am glad to have done so.

    But my profile, unlike yours, hints at a dark cynicism that I cannot presently claim. But I like the verdant vision that jade inspires, too.
