I've been in a pouty and sad state all day long... lacking motivation to even get out of my bed, and do something. I haven't eaten or showered or cared about anything. I realize what I need is a kick in the butt, but right now I'm looking for something more.

So people of SC, I am here... asking for help. Cheer me up! I'm not ready to step up and face the news I received yesterday, and I won't do it until I'm motivated. Make me laugh, cry, anything... tell a story, a joke, share a song, video, or even suggest some movies I could watch, or songs to listen to on my own.

I'm open to hearing your suggestions... you've been supportive up until now; so won't you make me smile?! :-)

I'm not sure I can top those....but I can tell you all what a dumb "blond" moment I had today.....

I was sitting in my truck trying to put my gloves on and for a minute or two, I thought I had two left gloves.....  I wondered how that could have happened, because I had worn them last year and stored them in the glove box.

You guessed it.  I turned the other one over....

(I was going by the decoration lines, and thought they were only lined on the top, but they look alike on both sides--except for the finger holes apparently....

    I know.....I shouldn't be allowed outside unsupervised....

i could send you hugs and all that stuff but after watching my mother last year well am sure you know what i saw when she died of cancer. what you need to do is get out of bed get dressed and go to the doctor and start an action plan for this TODAY ! no sence in crying and all that you can do that later once you start your treatments. but you need to get going on what you will do to fight this....
  • Sunshine_Mariah said on Jan 22, 2008....
kate - I watched my mom die too, and that is why this is so hard for me.

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers and for the
ladies to keep your husbands informed. Over the last month I became a victim of
a clever scam while out shopping at Home Depot. Simply going out to get supplies
has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't
happen to you or your friends.

    Here's how the scam works:

Two seriously good-looking 20-25 year-old girls come over to your car as you are
packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield
with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy
T-shirts. They know it and they know it's impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot.
You agree and they get in the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then
one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you,
while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen November 4th,  10th, twice on the 15th, & 24th. Also two times just yesterday, and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

    how about a little inspiration?

    >READ THIS
    >LET IT REALLY SINK IN - THEN CHOOSE .

    >John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and
    >always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he
    >was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be
    >twins!"

    >He was a natural motivator.

    >If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee
    >how to look on the positive side of the situation.

    >Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked
    >him, "I don't get it!

    >You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

    >He replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two
    >choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or ... you can choose
    >to be in a bad mood

    >I choose to be in a good mood."

    >Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can
    >choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

    >Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their
    >complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the
    >positive side of life.

    >"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.

    >"Yes, it is," he said. "Life is all about choices. When you
    >cut away all
    >the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to
    >situations. You choose how people affect your mood.

    >You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your
    >choice how you live your life."

    >I reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to
    >start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I
    >made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

    >Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident,
    >falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.

    >After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released
    >from the hospital with rods placed in his back.

    >I saw him about six months after the accident.

    >When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be
    >twins...Wanna see my scars?"

    >I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his
    >mind as the accident took place.

    >"The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my
    >soon-to-be born daughter," he replied. "Then, as I lay on the
    >ground, I
    >remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could
    >choose to die. I chose to live."

    >"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked

    >He continued, "..the paramedics were great.

    >They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into
    >the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I
    >got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I
    >needed to take action."

    >"What did you do?" I asked.

    >"Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,"
    >said John.
    >"She asked if I was allergic to anything 'Yes, I replied.' The
    >doctors and
    >nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath
    >and yelled, 'Gravity'."

    >Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on
    >me as
    >if I am alive, not dead."

    >He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his
    >amazing attitude... I learned from him that every day we have the choice
    >to live fully.

    >Attitude, after all, is everything.

    >Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about
    >itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34.

    >After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

    >You have two choices now:

    >01. Delete this

    >02. Forward it to the people you care about.

    >You know the choice I made.

This Australian pop star has inspired thousands of Women. She has beaten it, and you can too. Think positively and start the fight NOW. Come on sweetheart, you can do it! You have lots of friends and support here! (((((((((((hug)))))))))

Kylie Minogue, 37, diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer in May 2005, is reported to be in full remission. After eight months of surgeries and chemotherapy, she is said to be gaining weight and feeling optimistic about the future. In addition to the conventional medical treatments for breast cancer, Minogue used a variety of alternative therapies, including visualization practices, nutrition, massage and Reiki. Minogue is spending time with her family in Melbourne, Australia, tending to the garden and possibly writing a book for children. She plans on touring later this year.

    Kylie Minogue given cancer all-clear

Kylie Minogue has been given the all-clear from breast cancer.

The sexy singer was said to be "utterly, unbelievably overjoyed" to have won her battle with the disease, which she was diagnosed with last May.

The pop babe jetted home to Australia to celebrate with her family after Paris doctors gave her the happy news a week ago.
    Comment on this Article

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Kylie was desperate to see her family. She just wanted to hug them all and tell them it was going to be OK.

"She is thrilled and relieved. It's been a tough few months and there have been times when she felt very weak and down but this is the news she has been desperate to hear."

Kylie is also starting to grow back her blonde hair, which she lost during gruelling chemotherapy treatment.

An insider is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "She has put on a bit of weight on and has been feeling confident about the future. Her hair is even beginning to grow back, which she is tickled pink about."

The 37-year-old beauty will now start daily radiation treatment to make sure cancerous cells don't return. If the results remain negative for six months, she will officially be in remission.

A source said: "Kylie is keen to get it over with, then she can start planning the rest of her life."
