In my country there is no military. We have never had any. We still belong to Nato and we used to have American forces here but they have gone.

There are many problems, the fact that he's going to go to Iraq for 6+ months is one problem you'll face.  In addition to that he'll be sent on various training missions for weeks at a time that will keep him away from you.  Probably some pretty stressful days at that.

My thoughts are how you and he get along. That would be when your together and when your apart. A military marriage faces some times apart, if he's doing the career bit for sure. Do you trust, does he trust? If either doesn't your in for a rough time and lots of grief. Can you both be honest will you both be honest with each other about everything the other wants to know? If not...
Will each of you be supportive of each other when times are tough? Because times in the military can be rough. Especially when superiors and their spouses and children are concerned.
Good luck if you choose to go ahead with it. If you haven't already, I would recommend you take some time to get to know each other really well before you say I DO.
