In these days and times we look with hope towards our leaders past and present.Hope that things will get better for the world and for every one. Hope that the market won't crash, the bills are paid, our homes secure, our children are safe and that the American dream is still alive.MLk gave people hope as did JFK. They wanted a better world where all people were truly equal and could live in a better world than the past. Yet things look far worse than they did when they were alive to give their voice to hope. But they could only bring hope that we would do better, would become equals and would do our part to change and by doing so change the world. To me, Jesus offered a greater hope in that he came to say that we could do greater things than he did. He said that all are gods. In other words equal to him. As all we have ever known appears to be falling before our eyes I sincerely hope that people will see where following others have taken the world and compare it to what Jesus offered so that they can develop themselves, through knowledge, and finally seek out what he meant. To be free is to have it all without having to follow anothers plan, anothers dream and be free of intimidation and fear. What will it take before we learn to walk away from the false teachings of the religions that have so carefully taught us to follow instead of teaching us to create for our selves? The Kingdom of Heaven is within Jesus stated. Those feelings, those emotions create our world and we have used our Kingdom to destroy our selves and others. It is said that love heals all wounds. If that is so and we truly believe it is it not worth the effort to do it and heal our lives and our world? Or is it just another saying that we mindlessly repeat without really listening to the words let alone believe what we are speaking. As we celebrate MLK day let us remember another who brought hope to the world and try his nonviolent way of living if for no other reason than to save our own selves from the foolishness that we have wrought upon own selves. Peace
