Moved my weigh-ins to Friday morning since Friday night is "restaurant night" for us, so that might affect a Saturday-morning weigh-in. I am really excited to post these! I am a visual person so I'm trying to make a little ghetto chart; hopefully this looks okay to you guys once I post it (I do know how to do tables in HTML but I couldn't get it to work here).
Starting: Last week: Today:
Weight: 138 138.2 136.6 (135.0 naked)
Bust: 38 3/4 39 38 3/8
Belly: 39 1/4 39 1/4 38 7/8
Hips: 39 5/8 40 39 3/4
Thigh: 23 23 22 5/8
I'm going to start weighing myself naked from now on. I knew I should have been, but I figured my p.j.s couldn't weigh too much, and I was lazy! But this morning I was curious, and I realized it makes a pretty big difference. Plus it's more accurate naked since I'm not always wearing the same p.j.s!
I am really proud of myself! This is great progress. And even better, I am doing it in a way that I feel I can stick with permanently. I'm not denying myself anything! I'm just focusing on portion control and healthy snacks for those times I just can't stop myself.
My blood sugars are coming along great, too. I got up with my husband every day this week, and in addition to smoothing out my blood sugars (by putting breakfast and lunch further apart), I've been getting a lot more done without feeling so rushed, or so guilty for sleeping in. I am thisclose to getting my doses all figured out! I'm really excited about that, too.
There's only one little problem left to deal with: I'm having low blood sugars now around 5:30 a.m. Even if my blood sugar before bedtime is high and I don't do anything to correct it! It's weird. From the timing of it, it's something to do either with my long-acting insulin or, more likely, with my exercise kicking in. I'm not exercising because I choose to, but because I don't have a car, so I can't exactly reschedule it to a "better" time. I'll have to get some 3 a.m. blood sugars to get a better idea of what's happening. And I'll have to consult with my diabetes nurse to figure out what to do about it. In the meantime, I guess I will start planning in a high-protein snack before bed, to hopefully tide me through the night.
It's so much work! But it's nice to get positive rewards like today's measurements! Now, I've got pushups to do!
