Charles was what happen? He was livid when he found out some one had put their hands on his wife! ( I was thinking call the police...wait go report it to the sheriff ....) When He jumped in his wagon and took off down that dirt road, I knew back in the day you had the right to defend your family & its "Honor"...And "Take Matters Into Ones Own Hands!"

I'm not sure it was always a good thing to take matters into your own hands. I don't think the new system is that great either. I guess I'm looking for the happy middle ground. -

UI~ I am not a violent person either and I was wishing that he would go to the sheriff, but there wasn't one.... at the end the preacher and the guys escorted the rowdy brothers out of town while Caroline led the Women in song at church..they sang "When The Saints Go Marching In" I'm with you I pray for a middle ground.
lfb~ We know you could handle it... I can see you now....calmly stopping someone from hurting your loved one and walking away without looking back and saying well that's done...But only if someone forces your hand.
