DesDuckie, you have hit upon a subject near and dear to my heart.
Sit tight while I go song hunting at YouTube.
She's got long black hair down to her knees. She's got to be.....a la,la,la la,la la
Come together right now over me.....doom doom, shaka shaka, doom doom.
Hey Jude, now don't you cry..................... Can't help it but my inlaws LOVE LOve Love the Beatles.
I cannot pick one song - I adore the Beatles and depending upon the day, mood, how much sleep I have gotten, etc. will change which Beatles song I am calling my favorite. However, when I finally meet "Mr. FutureGod" and get married I have always wanted to have this as my wedding song.
In My Life
(Lennon/McCartney)
There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
Here Comes The Sun
I remember watching them on Ed Sullivan the first time. Remember how they scrolled their names under their faces, and when they got to John Lennon, it said, "sorry girls, he's married"?
Ladies and Gents -
If you live in or around the NYC area, at BBKings Blues Restaurant (on 42nd St) every Sat. they have a Brunch with the Beatles. A very well known and well respected Beatles tribute band, Strawberry Fields Forever, does a great show from the Love Me Do days to the Psychedelic Days (including costumes and St. Pepper Regalia).
While not the real beatles, a pretty good substitute and really a lot of fun for S & Gs. I never got to see the Beatles (just a bit too young) - but did see Paul McCartney (with Linda) in concert as well as Ringo and Julian Lennon.
